R4 and M3DS Simply dying ?

I have an R4 and a M3DS Simply.

R4 stopped issuing update at v1.18 months ago, while M3 Simply stopped around the same time at v1.14.

I wonder what is happening to both R4 and M3 .... ?

Looks like both cards are becoming obsolete soon ...
 
Perhaps, but then again, no major games have required a fix since the last firmware release. I think it is safe to say we won't see any new functionality updates though.

Anyway if anyone is in the market for a flash cart these days.. I would recommend getting something other than a R4, like the CycloDS. But, if you already have an R4, no reason to go and sell it for another cart.
 
yeah, besides, now you can hack R4's firmware into M3 simply

seeing that as soon as some incompatibillity happens R4's team gets right on it :)
