Golbat the pokemon that evolved from the much hated Zubat was over 5ft tall!

That's HUGE!

Anyone top that?

The highest priced new release video game was Steel Battalion, which retailed for around $200 at launch, and came with a fully operational Mech-inspired controller, which was in three pieces, and had to be placed on a table to be used, as it was so heavy and so big. If you died, the game deleted your save file, and forced you to start again.

The clouds in mario use the same sprite as the bushes, just turned green.

The sprites for butterfree and venomoth got mixed up.

My friend sent me this on facebook so I thought I share.

In 1986, Nintendo released a special Disk System peripheral for the NES in Japan. Among its features was a microphone in the controller, which certain games used, including an updated version of the original Zelda. You could only destroy a certain enemy by shouting into the mic.

An unlikely celebrity cameo is UK chat show host Jonathan Ross, who 'starred' in Halo 3. He supplies the voice of one of the marines who helps Master Chief, although it's very rare that one of his lines comes up -it's a totally random, and rare, occurrence.

Mario is the most accomplished video game character working today, assuming a large amount of roles in video games. In his career, Mario has appeared as a carpenter, a plumber, a doctor, a go-kart racer, a golfer, a tennis pro, a soccer player, a baseball slugger, a snowboarder, an Olympian, a referee, a basketball dribbler, a demolition man and a dancer.

Also, just for the record;

The princess is always in another castle.

But seriously, here's one: In the final stages of development, Capcom completely scrapped RE2 and started over again. Despite having the game almost finished they were not happy with the final product, opting to delay it and start fresh. This version of the game is known as RE 1.5 and never saw the light of day outside of leaked/promotional screenshots and videos.

Oh yeah! :w00t:

The facts I posted before were basically things I'd obviously google'd, because I couldn't really think of anything I knew off the top of my head. I don't really have much knowledge of computer games. However, reading that, I do remember that Capcom was initally called Capsule Computing. I also know that the Xbox was originally named DirectXbox.

If you ski over a rock backwards in Ski Free it turns into a mushroom (use the NumPad to go back up the hill or move sideways without moving down the slope)

A similar process occured with the development of RE4. A number of ideas were tried out regarding how to make the game, one was a "haunted house" scenario and another version was actually released after some tweaking: that game was Devil May Cry.

Typing "O CANADA" in the chat box of Age of Mythology creates a "laser bear" unit. It is a flying bear that shoots lasers, and has a Canadian flag cape.

Activision was against the concept of a modern-day shooter suggested by Infinity Ward for Call of Duty 4, and during the production cycle, provided market research to suggest that it was a bad idea.

Call of Duty 4 then went on to sell 27 copies per minute during it's first eight months of sale.

In PilotWings 64, on the level "Little Estates", there is a recreation of Mount Rushmore with Mario's head replaces that of George Washington. If the player decides to shoot it with a missile or cannonball, it will turn into a Wario head.

Pac-Man was originally titled "Puck-Man", but the name was altered for obvious reasons. Pac-Man is also an endless game, however a glitch in the games code causes one half of the screen to become a garbled mess of sprites, rendering the level virtually impossible to successfully navigate.
