Hm, don't think so, I think the slim be more cheaper than the older models.

300 bucks is a fair price IMO, I hope they really put it up at that tag.
Maybe in a short while you'll even get it bundled with a game for the same price (crappy game tho, but well....)

I would also be interested in how the slim is different in power consumption!
How much less does it draw?
