Amid weak retail performance of Harmonix's Rock Band 3, parent company Viacom is cutting its losses and plans to sell the studio, according to a Bloomberg report.
In a statement released today, a Viacom spokesperson said the company is in talks with "several potential buyers." On severing its ties with the rhythm-based music genre, Viacom noted that its exit stems from a company-wide strategy of focusing on high-performing properties, a category Rock Band evidently no longer falls under.
