We’ve been anxiously awaiting to take a look at Rockstar’s widescreen re-imaging of DS title Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars. Well, wait no longer, today is the day. Judging from the latest batch of screenshots, the PSP take mimics the DS original in the department, retaining the top-down, isometric view. Looks quite nice, considering the jump [...]

Seems pretty good, not the way I expected it to be, but I will have fun playing it for sure, never seen R* creating a boring game.

Supposedly for being built from the ground up it doesn't look all that different.

Perhaps the textures are better, at the very least.

Will probably still sell not a lot of copies since most people will go "EW 2d this isn't GTA"

Ironically it's right where GTA started.

This is actually probably a decent game too compared to the full 3d ones.

Was the DS version even any good?
With every GTA game comes a horde of people saying it sucked, or a horde of people that think it's the greatest game ever. This, I've heard nothing much about it. I haven't exactly looked, but usually one does not have to look to have GTA game info shoved down your throat.

Looks like complete shit, looks like all they did was try to port it and edit a few things.

This is not going to be as good of a seller as the GTA Stories series was.

Looks like original GTA & GTAII on playstatiom but better graphics. come on guy's you can do better than that.

People and GTA are 2 things I just never understood *shrugs*
I mean what looks so bad about it? Just because it's overhead like the original games?

GTA has become a sucky franchise ever since Vice City... It's just cash-in, after cash-in on the name of the franchise just because it sells...

And now it's come down to this... Tommy Vercetti must be rolling around in his grave...

San Andreas was the pinnacle of the series.

San Andreas was the pinnacle of the series.

I've heard that argument before and this is what I always say:

"In terms of gameplay I give in that the GTA series attained its pinnacle in GTA: SA, but storywise the game didn't feel right to me like something was missing"

But again that's my opinion :)

I've seen better, a lot better actually this doesn't even look like its worth a penny.

GTA 4 was the pinnacle of the series, and anybody who says differently didn't play it to the end.

I can't believe how many people trash that game. It was brilliant in my eyes.

Not many people had the incentive to play until the end. The game just wasn't fun.

Oh how I loved my character who I painstakingly developed. I remember how I enjoyed driving all the way to the mountains and back. Driving to Las Vegas was awesome. I genuinely got lost in the game world and enjoyed every moment of it.

I felt more attached to the characters in GTA IV though and loved the small puns and things you could do. Also an experience where you can get lost in the game if you take the time to play it without rushing through.
