Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai recently gave some insight on his views regarding the online component in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. If you've attempted to play Nintendo and Hal Laboratory's entertaining mascot fighter, chances are you've encountered a specific brand of players. By that, of course, I mean that these individuals just wait for the other person to attack so they can attempt to counterattack.

Coding random shit
I love brawl, but I just don't bother with the online. the few times i've tried it, it was pretty laggy. This game is defiantly leagues funner getting a group together than playing over the internet, particularly with the wii's online system being so lacking.

Even if it was better. Latency could still be an issue. I'd rather just do it in person.

Local/LAN is where it's at if you really want to play a game competitively.
