Hey all. I had been enjoying TF2 for a while now, with no problems but suddenly I went to start it up today and got the following error. Any clues why?

Check your task manager for any programs/games that Steam has launched in the past still running and kill them.
 
There should be. Either way, a Steam or system restart should fix the issue. Basically, something is locking up resources that Steam needs.
 
Fair enough, I'll give that a go and see how that goes, thank you.

A computer restart did the trick, thanks. Didn't think it would be that simple haha.
