Thanks.

I accepted the gift but it said it failed to add the game to my library. Hopefully nothing went wrong as I can still install the game from the steam store

I just watched the Xbox One reveal. The PS4 is DOA. The Xbox's UI is far too fluid, innovative and responsive for any other company other than Microsoft or Apple to come up with. Sony has no chance of producing something of that quality. The PS4 will just have a clunky UI like the current PSN Store with loading times within the menu itself and freezing when entering and exiting games. Xbox One will completely dominate sales when it launches in North America like the 360 initially did, except that the PS4 won't catch up like the PS3.

This will like be the iPhone launch vs every other wannabe that failed to deliver for the next 3 years.

Strong words. I don't think it will be that extreme, but I was also highly impressed with how responsive the voice commands were. Add the ability to go from watching TV to continuing your last game save and then into a video chat all with no lag, and that's mighty impressive.

Xbox One has a good shot of topping PS4 in North America, yeah, but Microsoft faces an uphill battle in Europe and Japan. Sony products tend to do better in those regions, and some of the multimedia features packed in the XBO won't be applicable for Europe such as live TV (so far anyway).

The jury's still out on the PS4 UI as far as I'm concerned. Pretty sure what was shown is far from finalized. I agree XBO looks a lot better in that regard but I'll wait until Sony's E3 showing before making any conclusions.
