Jonathan Blow, the man behind Braid and The Witness, is excited about what the PlayStation 4 can do in terms of raw power. According to the developer, the specs of Sony's upcoming platform mean that he'll be able to provide an experience that's graphically rich and smooth. The fact that the PlayStation 4 doesn't need to worry about running an operating system such as Windows also means valuable internal resources won't really be used up on anything other than the game.
"For The Witness we’re mostly interested in the base machine and how fast it is — the fact it has faster RAM than a PC, which really helps in shuttling graphics resources around, and since it’s not running a heavyweight operating system like Windows that gets in the way of your graphics," said Blow in a statement to Edge.
One of the features of the PlayStation 4 that has the indie dev especially stoked is the share option, which he believes will be an integral part of the console and gaming in general.
