PSP TimeMachine v0.1 - Load 1.5 Kernel On Slim

You'll need a custom firmware PSP in order to make the Time Machine.

If you were using the Install Guide, it says clearly that you need a homebrew compatible PSP to make it.

On my slim with 3.90M33-2, if I install the Time Machine and choose the 1.5 + 3.40 option, does this remove the 3.90, or does it then become 3.90M33-2, PLUS 1.5 + 3.40?

Will this change any CXMB I may have for 3.90M33-2?

Also, it says that a pandora battery is needed (which I have), but my question is when does it come in? Is it only when installing the TimeMachine FW like we've done with any other CFW installed using the pandora and MMS? I'm asking because all I did was put the TimeMachine files on the magic memory stick.

Thanks.

You're a bit mislead of the use of TimeMachine. :D
The Firmwares of Time Machine runs off completely from the memory stick. Nothing is touched in the NAND except the IDstorage keys. So even if you choose any frimware of the time machine, your console still remains 3.90M33. The Pandora is used too boot up the memeory stick, just like the Universal Unbricker. A good thing is though, that it has sleep mode! :)

How can I access to Recovery Menu for a custom firmware loaded with Time Mcchine medoth ?
Thanks

Good point, haven't tried myself. Try holding the R button as well when you're holding the combo keys to turn on the firmware you want on your PSP.

Hi,
Good, you must press R+[] or R+O then insert pandora battery and wait .... wait ..... ...... .... then appear Recovery Menu

Thanks

What's the point of this, other than eventually loading the 150 kernel for slims? I mean, why would this be needed for Phat users? I'm just having a hard time seeing any real benefits of using this. Please educate me...

Installing the 1.5 kernel on a Phat takes up more space on the NAND, so now you can simply use the TimeMachine instead of installing the 1.5 kernel add-on. Also the TimeMachine loads independent of the firmware installed, so it will work on any future M33 release.

Hi
is it possible use Pandora battery and Magic Memory Stick converted to Time Machine, to install a custom firmware on a new PSP with Sony original firmware ?
thanks

Magic Memory Stick and TimeMachine is a bit different.

Magic MS (Universal Unbricker) is used to flash custom firmware when bypassing the internal memory, hardware protections.

TimeMachine however, is firmwares that loads off completely from the Memory Stick, only using the IDstorage keys in the NAND.

The good thing is you can have both in one memory stick, the TimeMachine Guide guides you to install Magic memory stick first, THEN you install TM.

In other words, you still need the Magic memory stick to flash firmwares, not TimeMachine.

I made that uneducated comment before reading up on the benefits of this amazing proggy..I now see the light. Will this app mean that having to make a 150 addon for M33 firmwares be a thing of the "past" for Alexander? Hope so..

I do,however, have questions. I've never bothered with Pandora, nor with buying another battery.I've read that I can make a pandora battery that is bootable between Pandora and a normal battery. Is this possible?
And in regards to the magic memory stick, does it have to be one that I only use for Pandora and nothing else? I ask because all my mem sticks are now 4Gb and up,and I don't want to waste a stick that size..N00b=m3...
Help? Apps? Installers? Guides?

If you installed TimeMachine with DCv4 (Pandora), when you boot up with a pandora battery, and don't press any buttons, if goes into the firmware inside your PSP. and it has sleep mode :D

I made the conversion and now have a magic mem stick and a Pandora battery with Time Machine installed and running quite well. I have always been under the impression that I wouldn't be able to use the Magic Mem stick nor the Pandora battery for running my apps and Iso's and such but I can..Huh?
The initial convrsion was done with Hellcat's wonderful Pan3xx proggy then with Time Machine. The time Machine is truly amazing,I absolutely love it and can't wait for more firmware additions..
One last thing,I know..I ask alot of questions eh? But will this mean that a firmware update,4xx?,won't require any addons for 150? So no more removing of Korean font and Location Free Player? Thanks for all the feedback my friends..(Friends..right?)

Great! worked perfect on my 4gb ms. but i also have an 8gb ms. when i create the mms using hellcats utility, it formats it to 4gb. is there a way to utilize the full capacity of the 8gb stick when formatting?

I don't think so. In the first version of Pandora, the readme states that "mspformat" can only deal with memory stick up to 4GB, so anything larger than 4GB formats into 4GB. Unless, Team C+D or some developer can update the format program.

I Get Black screen!!!

hey guys,

Great trips I am having back and to the future with this machine. But only when take out the MS I get a black screen. Can anyone pls explain. I had 390m33-2. now I have 150and340....

@RJC4LIFE: It will work on any future firmware release. TimeMachine actually starts -before- the actual firmware does.

@inam913: The 1.50 and 3.40 firmware is loaded from the memory stick. So naturally if you take out the memory stick while the firmware is running it will freeze.

how can i make despertar cementerio(universal unbricker) boot up? Cause when I put my pandora batt. it automatically loads my 3.90 m33-2 firmware.
