First Warner announced their exclusivity to Blu-ray. Then sales of the format soared. Now a UK retail chain has completely dropped the HD-DVD format in favor of Blu-ray. However you look at it, things aren't looking up for the HD-DVD camp.
How can HD-DVD pull through at this point? Or, at least, spark interest in a format that many are already calling dead? Toshiba is banking on a 30-second HD-DVD advertisement that will air during next week's Super Bowl. Industry insiders report that the advert will cost Toshiba nearly $3 million dollars.
