Treyarch Already Working On Call of Duty 7

It looks as if Activision is sticking to its “leapfrog” development strategy for the Call of Duty franchise once more, as the LinkedIn profile page for Treyarch senior animator David Kim has revealed that plans to develop a seventh title are already underway. A block of text straight from said page reads the following:I am [...]

They're really starting to milk it. It'll be the madden of shooter games eventually.

And? Milking it creates a repetitiveness in the franchise and the installments will get tiresome eventually.

I'd also like it if they kept the franchise with Infinity Ward. The franchise might go the Windows way, with every other game being bad. :p

As of right now COD is only getting better

I really enjoyed CoD 1 and CoD 4 multiplayer. I have played all of the rest of the games, and I have not enjoyed any of them. In my book, this is already the Madden of FPS's.

That doesn't make much sense to me because Madden is an amazing game.

The first COD I really ever played, was COD4 which was the first one I played, and CODWAW.

I really like the series so far.

Madden is more or less the same game being released over and over again each year. There's a few minor improvements each year I suppose but for the most part it's the same.

I think that's what is being meant when saying COD is going to turn into the Madden of FPS's. If things stay the way they are going right now, then there'll be a new COD being pumped out each year with little improvement each time around. In my opinion I think COD would get boring if they go this route. I think the franchise would get real old real fast, much like Madden has for me (The only current gen Madden game I have is 2007, and then last gen I only had 2001 for the PS2 - because there's really no need for any of the other ones). I would enjoy the franchise more if they were to wait a bit longer and put more time into the game before shipping a new one out each year.

I'm not saying they'll be bad games, I'm just saying there'll probably be no real improvements between each incremental update - thus making it kind of bland.

I'm actually quite happy about this. Madden is released every year with tiny updates, because there are people who play it constantly and only want minor updates. I would happily buy this game everytime it came out, as long as they had updated it in some way. Thats just how much i play it.

People also need to stop slacking off Treyarch. We know its the cool thing to do right now, but face it, CODWAW is better then COD4. They have updated it so well. Things like more modes, bigger maps and body dismemberment are wicked. Not to mention Zombie mode, which is worth

Personally, I won't be buying each new COD that gets dropped off each year. It's like buying an ipod and then a few months down the road you're like "oh shit, a new one is coming out, now mine is obsolete". That sort of stuff is just annoying - I understand that's how consumer electronics work, but games? I don't want an excellent game to go down that route, it's just frustrating.

Also, I like COD4 miles more than WAW. I find it better in nearly every aspect. WAW was quite the disappointment, minus the tacked on Zombie mode which only now has 2 maps and gets boring after playing it more then 20 times.
It's a matter of personal opinion, not a matter of "lets face it"...

Fair enough, but the only reasons i've seen people say COD4 is better, is because it was the original blockbuster. Though to be honest, the original Madden isn't better then Madden 09.
Please bare in mind that WaW was built on top of what IW had already done ...
Right, but if we were to compare the games and forget the tech.
CoD4 destroys WaW.
I'm certain thats because you love modern shooters. Like GRAW, KZ2 and GoW. I remember you saying that you hated the game the moment you heard it was WW2.
