Trying to install CFW on my PSP

Hello guys.
I'm new here.

I own the following devices with the respective OFW:

-PSP 1001 with OFW 2.81
-PSP 2004 with OFW 3.90

I am trying to install CFW on my PSP Slim (2004).
I purchased a Pandora Battery, and following some guides online, I created a MMS (Magic Memory Stick).

When I inserted the Pandora on my PSP 2004 (holding the L trigger), nothing happened.
I tried again without pressing L, nothing happened.
The Pandora Battery was brand new, so I thought that maybe it wasn't charged.
So I googled a bit, and learned that I should turn on my PSP with the AC adapter and then insert my Pandora.
But after doing so, the battery light turned orange and the battery icon on the top right corner showed up blinking for a few seconds. And then dissapeared.

Could this mean that my Pandora is somehow 'broken' / malfunctioning ??
I tried the same process on my Phat PSP, but then the light didn't even turn orange as a sign of charging mode.

Any suggestions??

I believe that during the process of trying to install CFW, I have already created about 15 MMSs...
And this is also my second purchased Pandora Battery.

Hope you guys have suggestions as for the Pandora issue.

Also if there is a way of installing CFW without the use of Pandora it would be great (I would really rather if I didn't have to go buy another one).

Thank you in advance for the replies.
Best regards.

PS: the CFW that I've been trying to install is 5.00 M33-4 with update to M33-6.

EDIT:

Sorry m8s.
After posting I tried again, and it seems that now the Pandora Battery is charging.
The icon on the top right corner of the screen was not blinking, but the battery light was orange (and not green as usual.

I would still like some help regarding the CFW.
I am not even sure if I need to downgrade before trying to CFW or not... :s
thank you.

With the pandora inserted the green light should come on and nothing else. Does that happen?

There is a way to install CFW without Pandora - using Chickhen, although you will need to update to OFW 5.03 and using HEllcats recovery flasher you should be able to d/grade to a CFW and update to 5.00M33.

Google ChickHEN R2 & hellcats recovery flasher can be found Chickhen R2

All the items can be d/led from http://downloads.exophase.com/category/psp/

Do you mean if the green light comes on when I have the MMS in (to install CFW) ??
If yes, then my answer is know.
With the MMS and Pandora on, nothing happens. And the light doesn't come on green as if the PSP was turning on.

I will look at that link about ChickHen R2.

thank you.

With no MMS imserted you should get the green light and nothing else.

With a MMS inserted (and correctly functioning) it should boot as normal to the XMB.

ONly when you insert the pandora (with the MMS inserted) and hold the correct boot key i.e. RTRIGGER will it boot to your pandora menu.

i suspect your pandora battery is duff :(

What do you suggest that I should use to make a functioning MMS ??

I would like to install CFW 5.00 m33-6.

Can you give me a link showing what I should use?
Or give me the name of the application/s that I should use, then I will try to find them myself.

Hope you can reply soon, as I would like to give it one last shot with the Pandora Battery before returning it to have it replaced.

Thanks in advance.
Regards.

EDIT:

I don't know if it makes any difference, but I would like to install the CFW on a PSP Slim 2004 with 3.90 OFW

EDIT 2:

This thread can be closed now.
I have successfully installed CFW 5.00 M33-4
I'm now working on the update to CFW 5.00 m33-6
