Nintendo has ushered in some more retro goodness this fine Friday morning with four new Virtual Console titles for our European friends.
This week blasts off with Streets of Rage 2, a follow-up to the original side-scrolling beat 'em up released by Sega in 1991. Arguably one of the greatest Genesis games ever. At 800 Wii Points, this one's a steal.
Next up is Kid Chameleon, a Genesis puzzler that meets platforming gameplay. You play as a kid who has been sucked into an actual video game, and it your job to defeat the game's main boss. Grab it for 800 Wii Points.
Continuing the SEGA lineup is ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Planet Funkotron. This game was a radical departure from the original ToeJam & Earl, going from a top-down adventure to a side-scrolling platformer. You play as the quirky ToeJam and his side-kick Earl who must capture the Earthlings in jars, and ship them back to Earth in rocket ships at the end of each level. 800 Wii Points is the price for this gem.
Rounding up this rather impressive week is a lesser-known TurboGrafx game - World Sports Competition. Word of advice: stay clear away from this one. If you're prepared to wade through a bunch of mundane Olympic mini-games, it can be had for 500 Wii Points.
