PSP Unbrick/Downgrade of 2k with mobo v3 and 3k?

one of russian site claims to be able to do downgrade/ unbrick of stated psp models. they're saying if there one thing pic, it's possible to downgrade/unbrick. they say it's possible to do it with mobos TA-88V3,TA-90 or TA-92.
so is this fake or it's possible indeed? what are these things on pic? btw, they are different on my 2k with ta85v2 mobo and 2k with ta88v3 mobo. why?
your thoughts on this matter?

I would suspect it is a fake.

so Hellcat, what's are these things circled on pic and why they're different on ta85v2 and ta 88v3?

Dunno, might be some blinky pins from some chip sitting there, and it's different for the same reason as the TA086 shows an IC ID in the UMD tray and the TA079 does not - because PCB layouts happen to change on new revisions.

Are they showing those pads to tell which model is able to downgrade? Or are they saying those pads are used for the actual downgrading?

Because you'll only see those pads on TA-088 and above, previous motherboards you'll see 2 VDR components connected to those pads. That's one way to determine whether or not you have a TA-085 or TA-088. Maybe that's why they are showing that pic, but if they are showing that pic because they are saying it's used for downgrading, then they have absolutely no idea.

As for what those pads are, it has absolutely NOTHING to do with any sort of "downgrading". They are 2 VDR's (when they're actually soldered there) to protect the right speaker from excessive current (one on positive line, one on negative line). As for why the components are missing on TA-088+ boards, probably because they were needed when they first designed the slim mobo (TA-085 was the first slim model) but have since optimised the speaker protection circuit so that the VDR's are no longer needed.

Motherboard circuits are updated and optimised all the time, you will see plenty of times where components seem to be missing from the board.

As for whether or not downgrading/unbricking is true, it could be (but ofw only, ie. using stolen/leaked official jigkick/mms).

they're saying if you have these 4 pads then they can downgrade/flash/unbrick it. they didn't say a word of how they're doing this. i'll try to get some info though
tnx SilverSpring for explanation btw.

Ok so they're just showing that to tell how to distinguish between the TA-085 and TA-088/090 models (if 4 bare pads then TA-088/090, if 2 black SMD components soldered onto the pads then TA-085).

Still (if it is true), they are probably only using official tools so can only unbrick to OFW. There's still no new preIPL hack for these models for CFW/Pandora.

How is the 3000 even put into service mode? With new battery logic board or something else all together like the PSPGo? Any idea about the PSPGo?
