Update me some?

OK, so as a lot of you know, I sold my PSP-1000 to help build my new pc.

I have been out of the scene for a while.

I was wondering if someone can answer the following:

  • Can the PSP 3k run iso's period, if not whats the problem with it currently?
  • Should I get a PSP2k or PSP3k
  • Was there a memory (RAM wise) upgrade with the 3k models.

Thanks :p

1) It cannot, since Davee did not want to support piracy via including one in HEN.
2) 2k, since it supports M33 whereas with the 3k you'll need to use HEN.
3) Not that I know of.

As for your reply for #1, its possible but yet not implemented correct?

Has he blocked it? Or just not included it?

He hasn't included it and no one with enough knowledge is going to put the effort into making one. I'd say go with a 3K just because they're prettier, the HEN is nice, you get homebrew on your PSP and that's what matters. Davee will keep giving us nice updates as well (: As for the extra ram thing 3K has the extra ram that the 2K has but nothing more, davee's also adding support next HEN release for 3Ks to spoof themselves to 2Ks to take advantage that ram in the slim homebrew releases.

Thanks!

So, do you think that seeing as there were several ISO loaders back in the day, that one could be implemented into this new firmware? There were several back in the 1k times.

I'd go with the PSP 2000, for several reasons. First off, it's cheaper. Secondly, there hasn't been a guarantee of a custom firmware on the 3000. This is unfortunate, because it would make development challenging, with loading HEN over and over. I seem to remember you were an aspiring dev a few months ago. Lastly, you wouldn't have to worry your little pirate mind about an ISO loader, because the custom firmware has it built-in.

Thanks. I'll probably go for the PSP2000 series.

And ya, I sorta lost my interest in PSP Dev. The only true thing I find my self ever really liking to program/dev on is websites.

Thanks again.

* Can the PSP 3k run iso's period, if not whats the problem with it currently? - NOT atm
* Should I get a PSP2k or PSP3k - Devwise a PSP2k is a better choice (it still boot on Pandora bat)
* Was there a memory (RAM wise) upgrade with the 3k models. (Upgrade=None Pre-ipl=NEW)

Newer FWs has not yet been dumped or encrypted.. what if upgrading to 5.03 was the BIGGEST mistake we had made since we can only run 5.00M33s??

just a thought:)

. . .

A 2 second google search would've answered all these questions. Making a thread was, like most of your other threads, not needed.
