Update: PSP Custom Firmware 3.71 M33-4 Released, Popsloader Bug Fix

Is the program used to combine 2 disks into 1 eboot combined in the firmware 3.71 M33 update or is it separate?
I cant wait till they release those cards in teh US.

It's in the update archive. Look in the popstation_md folder.

Sure, but it's more complicated than it's said.

You'll Need the "Pandora Battery" (Also know as the "Universal unbricker/installer") to do the job. Check it out in the FAQ section

But to make one, you'll still need a PSP with custom firmware (e.g. 3.71M33) to make one.
 
grind session still does not work, unfortunately, but I found out how to find the files. if you download an eboot for a firmware, say 3.40 or 3.72, you can place it onto the main folder (ms0; NOT the update folder). then, you can decrypt using the psardumper program using the square button. When you decrypt a firmware, you can find the files under the 'f0' folder in the main folder (ms0), change the name to include the numbered firmware (popsman340.prx for example) and place them in the ms0:/seplugins/popsloader folder.

Two questions, please:

1) Do you have to find out what firmware allows each game to be able to play them? For example, if firmware update 3.40 allowed the game 'Grind Session', is that the only one I can use?

2) ok the first one was two questions (lol), but, Can I use the same prx's from a higher firmware in each category (3.00-3.03, 3.10-3.30, and 3.40-3.72), say renaming 3.30's pops.prx to pops310, pops311, pops330, the ones below it, or should I download and decrypt each firmware?

Thanks for any help. I have a few PSX games I'd like to play, but they never work for me.

First off, some basic questions, then I'll get to yours- How are you converting your PSX games? Are you using the guide HERE? Also, which firmware are you running?

Okay, now for your questions-

1) Not necessarily; Although this is true with some games. It just really, REALLY depends on the game- There are some games that work with every single version, perfectly. There are some games that only work with some versions, then there are games that don't work at all.

2) The Popsloader in 3.71M33-4 (assuming you ARE using that firmware) basically does what you are saying without all of that hassle- it lets you pick which one you want to use, and you can have all versions available at once. This of course requires you to download and decrypt each firmware and use all of the pops .prx files, and upon launch of the PSX game it asks which version of Pops you want to use. No need to rename 'n' such.

Oh, and one final note- Don't advertise. It's severely against forum rules.:smile:

oh god,i'm getting confused here!!i've just update to 3.71 m33-4 & already add on 1.5 kernel on my phat psp,so here the question:

1)the 150.pbp still available on my ms root folder,shall i leave it there or delete it?

2)i've already download the PSX2PSPv13 & when i extract it there's a lot of folders in it.eg..custom pics,files,pics,themes...etc.what shall i do next?:confused1:

3)when i extract zip files for 3.71 m33 updater there's another folder named 'sdk',what exactly is that?do i need to add on my ms root?after i succesfully update my ms root are like this;

i'm not planning to put any plugins on my psp yet,the only thing i want to resolve now is to play psone games on my psp,so any help are really grateful now,plz:blushing:

If its a PSP-3000/PSP Brite on 5.03, you are hopeless. :sad:

If its a PSP-2000/ PSP Slim on 5.03, you can downgrade using Pandora's Battery method. (Unless its the TA-088 V3 motherboard)

If its a PSP-1000/Phat on 5.03, you can downgrade also with Pandora Battery method.

If you do not have a Pandora Battery and people you know that have PSPs do not have one, you are absolutly hopeless.

(i saw in psp site dat latest versions are not working properly than psp 3000,2000)</p>
