While we knew Portal 2 on PS3 would feature some degree of Steamworks integration, the Sony and Valve partnership announced at E3 2010 extends far beyond what we initially expected.

Not only does Portal 2 boast cross-platform co-op play between PS3 and PC, those who purchase a copy of the PS3 version can unlock a Steam copy at no additional cost by linking their Steam and PSN accounts on both platforms.

This is pretty freaking sweet. I'm not a PC gamer, at all, my Laptop is terrible, but someone will benefit from this, definitely.

You have to link your PSN and Steam accounts so I assume that entails activation on the PS3.

I'm so buying the ps3 version now, even if I don't end up playing it on ps3.

Pretty sweet like most of you im getting it on ps3 :)

You probably can't gift it. I assume it works like this: you login on Steam with the Portal 2 disc inserted and it activates on both platforms.

There will likely be a code you enter but that will be on the PS3. They'd run into issues with people selling off their PC activation codes by doing it any other way..

Ah..didn't see the part about linking your PS3 account with Steam. Most likely won't be able to gift then unless you feel like sharing your PSN info

This is awesome :D

They'll have issues anyway with pre-owned copies of Portal 2 on the PS3. :\

Used game stores might not accept it for trade in, we'll see I guess.
