PSP warranty

Ok so i have a warranty on my psp and it is up in a couple months so i thought maybe i would trade it in, but i have some issues with that that im going to list:
My psp now is:
[psp slim latest cfw]

1) i have a pandora battery right now with a magic mem stick, but i used a guide to make it from when it first came out should i update it?

2) im pretty sure i can get another psp 2000 so i was wondering what i should look for to make sure it is homebrew compatible? Which also brings me back to the 1st question will i need a new version of pandora to do that or should my old one still work?

That is pretty much the only questions i can think of atm so any help is appreciated. :tup:

EDIT also pandora should still work not sure if you need to update the MMS
