Japan-based publisher Koei has announced that its Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors crossover, more commonly known as Warriors Orochi, has shipped 1.5 million units across the globe on nearly all current-gen platforms. That includes the PC, PlayStation 2, PSP, and Xbox 360.
To celebrate the feat, Koei felt it was time to announce a direct sequel to the original game. Yes, slated to hit this coming September on the Xbox 360 and PS2 is the aptly titled sequel Warriors Orochi 2.
The sequel takes place shortly after the events in the original, featuring an all-new Dream mode with a storyline separate from that of the main campaign. Additionally, players will be able to duke it out in a new two-player "Versus" mode that boasts a selection of four original games, including Tag Team, which pits fighters in head-to-head combat.
