I love shows which focus on the main character's romantic relationships. Its vital that the viewer gets attached to the character, which happens only when you know about the character's "off-work" life.
Thats why I really started liking House M.D. from the second season, where the side story was about a potential relationship between [BLACKOUT]Cameron and House[/BLACKOUT]. The following seasons show a potential relationship between [BLACKOUT]House and Cuddy[/BLACKOUT], and then an actual relationship between [BLACKOUT]House and the visiting lady at the asylum[/BLACKOUT].
Same reason I also liked Inu Yasha. For the unspoken but implied relationship between him and Kagome.
I guess its a reflection of my unfulfilled real life desires as I've never even remotely been able to have a much-needed-by-me relationship with anyone T_T
