What is the optimal path from 3.10 OE-A' to 3.71 M33?

Hello.

I have been out of the firmware loop since I got 3.10 OE-A' up and running months ago. So, I was quite surprised by the Dark Alex situation and was excited when I saw the latest 3.71 M33 firmware.

I have a fat TA-082 PSP that I bought at firmware 2.51 (I believe), downgraded to 1.50 and upgraded to 3.10 OE-A'. So, I'm a total newb when it comes to custom firmware to custom firmware upgrades.

Should I go up and up the path, to 3.30 then 3.40 and THEN the M33 upgrades? Or is there a quicker and/or smarter route? Also, I heard there were issues with 'valid keys' that prevented some M33 upgrades. Is that anything I need to worry about?

LONG STORY SHORT: I would like to get from 3.10 OE-A' to 3.71 M33 as quickly and easily as possible and would be very appreciative to anyone who could help.

Easy.
Upgrade to 3.52M33 directly, guides HERE
Then update to 3.52M33-4, guides HERE.
Then the last finishing touch up to 3.71M33, guides HERE.

Since you have a TA-082 PSP, i recommend you to check you IDstorage Keys with KC v1.4 before you install 3.71M33, Check it out HERE.
(Do NOT unpatch key5)

why not go directly to 3.71m33?

why flash the psp two extra times when its not needed?

he can't. the 3.71 M33 update process only works on 3.52 M33-3, 3.52 M33-4 and 3.60 M33

Hi, I used the above-mentioned methods, flashed my 3.40 OE-A to 3.52 M33-4, then tried to flash it to 3.71 M33. However, the software doesn't recognise my set as 3.52 M33-4 and it kept saying that it requires at 3.52 M33-3 or higher.

kindly please advise. Thanks!

You need to enter recovery mode (hold R during bootup) and then switch the Game folder kernel mode to 3.X
