What's the deal with 5.02 HEN-A

So I've been reading about a new HEN that is supposed to work on ALL systems, and saw the YouTube video with the french guy.

But I'm trying to look up some info and all I find are testimonials from D_A about people stealing code blah blah blah.

So is there seriously a new HEN and it isn't released due to dramatics? How old are the devs anyway?

Nothing has been released in public, but yes the HEN (as far as we know) exists. How old are the devs? Whats that supposed to mean? Theyve been around since the 1.50 PoC

I think there is a hen, but i reckon it will never see the day. Its an access point to the new mobo's and if it is disclosed you can bet PSP-4000 or PSP2 will be released damn quick.

Don't take my post as a negative remark, mortal. What I mean is, at some point and at a certain age you learn not to let others words impede your work or progress. In other words, I would hope the hard working devs would have the foresight to release things for the greater audience and not let a few annoyances get in the way.

There is a reason why this HEN hasn't seen the light of day. If it is released Sony will undoubtedly patch the kernel exploit it takes advantage of in the next firmware update. Meaning if a new PSP is released it will be very difficult to hack. As long as Sony is not in possession of this exploit it is impossible for them to fully secure the firmware.

I can understand that, sphere. Sounds good to me.

PSP OFW 5.03 already patched the gripshift exploit. The thing 5.02 HEN-A uses that to install itself, soo.

It takes advantage of two exploits, one kernel and one in user space. Sony patched only the user exploit, as it was released publicly. The kernel exploit used is a old one, found years ago by a member of team C+D. It has not been used in any homebrew application and as such Sony has not been able to patch it. They know it exists, but don't know what to look for. The few developers that have it in possession are hoping to keep it that way.

Lets hope it stays that way too
