What's your fav sports team?

I just hope the Lakers resign Lamar Odom. If we lose him, idk. That would mean we lost both Ariza and Odom, and those two guys really helped us win it all.

And then you replaced them with Artest. I'd say that's almost an upgrade.

I don't like seeing Odom platooning, I'd rather see him as an everyday player since that would be better for his fantasy value.

Ron Artest is much better than a 28% shooter. Maybe you're looking at 3 point field goal %...

Ariza is crap compared to Artest. I don't even think that's debatable.

I actually think Artests 3pt % is not half bad, which is funny when you actually look at him shoot some of them.

And the news now is that Odom might be going to Miami. I'd actually like to see a Wade-Odom-Boozer trio going if they managed it, it'd be a pretty good squad.

Lakers got an upgrade in Artest, but if they lose Odom that wouldn't be the best. Odom was a vital part of the championship, not all his doing obviously...i mean theres freaking Kobe. And Pau i guess, but still.

Mine used to be the Montreal Canadians until I saw this:

GO LAKERS :P

Odom on the Lakers means bad fantasy value, and I don't want that as a fantasy player.

Besides, if you give Artest starter minutes, Odom will get like 12 minutes a game. I don't think that's going to work out for both parties.

I'd rather see him on Miami. I also don't know if the Heat can actually land Boozer.

If Lakers lose Odom, I see that has a step back. Even with Artest, we need the leadership and power he has coming off the bench. Odom was a huge reason why we won the championship, him and Ariza.
Odom was happy coming off the bench he said, as long as he can contribute to the team he is happy. Plus we won a championship with him being a huge reason why. He wouldnt want to leave the chance of winning more championships to go back to Miami.

Upgrade??? Are you serious??? Lamer and Trevor for Ron is a upgrade your joking right.

I also forgot. Whos your fav boxer.
Mine is Juan M. Marques....Mayweather your going down!

My favorite sports player is Albert Pujols from the Cardinals-MLB.
I just realized how much I love seeing that guy. He is a beast at the plate and he is really fun to watch.

If the Heat do indeed get him and Boozer, they're going to have a chance. We saw that even if you're not a Boston or a Cleveland in the East, you can still get into the Finals with the Magic getting to the Finals this year.

When it comes to every player, they'd rather start and be a more intricate part of the team. Odom is too good of a player to come off the bench and only play 20 minutes a game.

It's the question of quality vs. quantity.

Neither Odom or Ariza are better than Artest in a one on one situation.

But if you're going to take depth into the equation, then you can say that Ariza + Odom > Artest alone.

Thing is, Artest will give you more quality in his 36 minutes than Ariza and Odom. Plus, I'm pretty sure Luke Walton + Ron Artest will at least equal the output you got from Odom and Ariza.

I like a healthy Carlos Quentin more.

But yes, if I wasn't a White Sox fan, I'd love the man-beast that is Albert Pujols.

Well if you actually think about it, the Magic wasn't a shock. Celtics had a Ray Allen that wasnt playing Ray basketball every game, no KG, and the rest of the team worked hard, but they just werent enough. Magic had a more balanced team at the time than either Celtics or Cleveland.
They were all good teams, but i personally think there was an equal chance of seeing either 3 teams.

And yeah, Heat could really get some scared looks if they get both. Dwyane Wade is already a beast of a player, and if Boozer stays healthy, he can put up all-star numbers. Put that with Odom who plays pretty damn well, even at the backup position, then you've got a threat. You could also expect to see Mario Chalmers and Michael Beasley playing better too.

And thats probably his greatest contribution, is the relief he brings when he comes off the bench. Lamar Odom usually came out helping with the starters, Artest will come out, giving Kobe some time to keep fresh, and making the Lakers bench an insta-threat.

ARE you saying that ariza and odom arnt quality?

There is no debate on who is better: Artest is bay far better than either Odom or Ariza. If Odom leaves, which I highly doubt, then it will mess up the Lakers depth but if he does come back lakers have a great chance to repeat. Spurs will be there biggest threat imo.

As far as the topic: I am a NY/NJ sports guy (Yankees, Jets, NJ Nets) but I am by far more into the yankees that anything else.

But really whats being tough? Fighting almost every game? Getting suspened? I thought being tough was plaing every game hurt or not and Lakers all ready had that with Kobe.

Artest has a temper, he throws a hissy fit once or twice a year, but that doesn't mean he won't help your team win. He alone helped the Rockets almost beat LA last year.

If you're seriously going to go off of his reputation of being a douchebag rather than his talent as a very good basketball player, then you're being way too shallow.

You need a badass on your team once in a while. Gasol is soft. Kobe isn't a hard ass. But Artest is. He'll constantly harass the other team's #1 and make it easier for Kobe.

In a lot of ways, Artest being a total nut is a very good thing.

This only means that the Bulls will have a better chance at signing D-Wade next year.
