Which is this space movie where they 'hibernate' in cells for long trips?

What is that movie where they're travelling through space for hundreds of years so they hibernate in these chambers so they they don't grow old? When they wake up one of their guys is reduced to a skeleton because his chamber failed.

Is it a recent movie? Kinda sounds like Pandorum.

No pretty sure its ancient. Remembered it thanks to a bit of Deja Vu when I watched Aliens today, when they found an old ship and dusted off a similar sleep chamber with someone stranded in there for 57 years.

If it's ancient it has got to be Planet of the Apes (1968). I know one of the 4 crew member's capsule has a leakage and the person dies.

It describes pretty much any sci-fi movie that involves deep space exploration o.0

pandorum?

Sounds like Planet of the Apes except she isn't a skeleton, more of a hollowed out mummy.

Could be what he's looking for though.

Could be the original Alien movie, but I don't remember the details of that film too well.

Nope, no one died of a leakage/whatnot in the first Alien film.
You may have been thinking of Alien 3 where Newt died in the period between Aliens and Alien 3 due to a leakage.

Damn, I never got any notifications for this thread. I haven't seen the original Planet of the Apes so it can't be that. I haven't heard of Pandorum at all.

And yes it was more like dried skin still stuck on the skeleton.

In IMDb - RocketMan (1997) the main character wakes up from his failing chamber right away, and has to live on the ship until they get to Mars

Its probably not what you were looking for exactly, but its still a funny movie that has a sleep chamber that malfunctions during hypersleep.
