Why are switch games both 1 and 2?

Why are the switch games like BotW combined? When you click on BotW you see 'Switch' and 'Switch 2'. Shouldn't it be separated like ps 4 and ps5?

Since that's how it is setup on Nintendo's side as well. If you check your play log, there is only one entry even if you've played both Switch 1 and Switch 2 versions.

Sony didn't always separate listings either. A lot of PS4/PS Vita trophy sets are merged. But with PS5 they did yes.

Sorry, didn't knew that. I don't have a switch 2

I concur. PS4/PS Vita sometimes is a mess. Just check Stardew Valley. Platinum trophy is achievable in both system for the same stack, but only PS4 version have available 1.6 update, which is necessary for 100%, making it impossible with PS Vita.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is only showing up as Switch, and I booted up the Switch 2 Edition. Is it just a delay on the site's end?

The worst thing is transferring data to another Switch which you don't have to do necessarily for most Switch 2 Editions but you have to for ACNH if you want to keep your island. So, transferring your island to another Switch or a Switch 2 freezes your current total and never increases it again on here or on Nintendo's end until you surpass it.
I would have to get over 592 hours on ACNH all over again to get it updated past that. The only way I could possibly picture doing that is letting my game idle often for an hour or much more per day and well I don't think I'll do that because it doesn't seem worth it.
