A few details were left unanswered by the Xbox One reveal event today but more details have emerged following the end of the presser. According to a Wired article, consumers must install a game to their HDD in order to play it. In doing so you will not be required to have the disc in the console in order to play the game, presumably by pairing the physical disc with your console and/or Xbox Live account.

No buy here, due to charging for a fee to even borrow games from friends/families, erm MS i don't think so! Nice knowing ya, hello Sony! :)

That report has since been found to be incorrect. Details are amiss though - Xbox Support says there are no fees but then another report I read says there is one - similar to EA's online pass program (although closer to full price).

So yes, there is a fee....but no there isn't. Apparently you'll be able to sell your copies online though (or trade them). I'm amazed at how unclear this is right now. If we don't get a firm answer by tomorrow then we'll probably get one at E3

They couldn't at least offer BC for the ACTUAL Xbox 1?

If the 360 could emulate it in software. The ALL MIGHTY Xbox one should be able to do it Easy!

No XBLA games come over? Why not offer a program to developers to port their games easily to the Xbox one and then offer users who own said game on 360 XBL a small fee to get the new XBO version? (Ala VC games from Wii to Wii U)

Also: Phil harrison has said you'll have to pay full price.

Shit. I wish it was true. There's no reason they should be any different from Steam games you purchase at a store. You register the key to your account and it's your's forever even if you lose the disc.

There's every reason. For one, it's a console. There is no legitimate reason to tie retail games to an account other than greed.

On PC piracy is rampant and easily accessible so it's justifiable even if it works or doesn't.
