I have to post this to get it off my chest.

Me and the other half decided to go out for dinner, it has been while for various reasons; Kids, work etc

So we book the table for 8.30pm, which is in a reasonably small restaurant about 6 miles away. In order that we could have a few drinks we decided to get the bus which would arrive at 8.20pm.Perfect.

We get on the bus and 3 miles later it breaks down, no problem the driver says another bus is on route and that will take us into town, eta about 10 mins - 35 mins later bus arrives and duly takes us into town and we arrive at 8.50, 20 mins late. Downer #1.

We run like crazy (not a good look with shirt and shoes) and get to the restaurant albeit 30 mins late, we explain and they seem to understand so the waiter shows us to the table - things are looking up :) We are looking at the menu and the waiter says after about 2 mins "are you ready to order?" we reply "could we have a couple of mins?" waiter replies "your taking to long!!, Hurry up." so we order, thinking that as we were late we could give a bit. Food arrives, and the waiter stands next to us checking his watch every 2 mins putting us under pressure to finish(downer #2). Totally ruined it for me, why let us sit if our lateness was such a problem to them? I appreciate we were late but i saw this as bad a service as is humanely possible to do. Am i overreacting?? Food was not great either.

We leave feeling totally despondent, things ain't going well. We throw in the towel and head for bus station. Were going home.

What do we find at the bus station - some dude 100% Drunk shouting at us, swearing and generally abusing anyone in his path (which was us and the other bus goers, downer#3) . Bus finally arrived after what seemed an age (actually was only 5-10 mins) and we finally get home (on time this time, lol) and go to bed.

You plan it, Your excited about it, and then it goes horribly wrong.

I wonder if i will ever leave the house again. Took us almost 7 months on this occasion.

Sorry for the rant.

Sucks man, I'm sure you'll be able to laugh together about it soon. I say get back on the horse, try again as soon as possible, maybe try a different restaurant though.

PS- I know this doesn't help, but I went out with my girlfriend last night and had a great time. :P Sorry.

Different restaurant without a doubt, maybe another mode of travel as well, lol. I'm glad one of us did at least. :)

I hear you. Over the course of the last year I have ended up hooking up with this chick I often see at local house parties, the next day we go back to our own places and don't see each other till the next party. Anyway we normally end up sharing a bed in one of my friends houses but one night the whole group was going clubbing and I asked her back to mine. I then ask the next morning if she'd like to come over and I'd cook her dinner sometime to which she happily says yes to.

I go out buy all my ingredients spend hours looking up recipes for the perfect way to cook what I wanted to do shoot her a message on facebook confirming (I didn't have a cell at this point) and heard nothing back, sure enough she didn't show. I then spoke to her the next day and mentioned it to which she said she forgot and she doesn't check her facebook much but would love to rescedual, great. So I go out, buy a new phone and credit organize a night later in the week. She bails again (at least she told me this time) because her sisters boyfriend died, fair enough I guess.

Was pretty disappointed that week though, thigs did however work out in the end.

Even if you were late, him standing over you checking his watch is rude, you should have said something.

Well i would have, but at the time we both thought it quite funny - only after i had slept on it did it start to make me irate, Should be the other way round really.

Bad for you man but I guess like Spiros said nothing to do but get back on the horse. When shit like that happens to us I normally have to bite my tongue and be civil but I do make it known that I'm unhappy with the situation. And of course we normally laugh it off or just go somewhere else and have fun. But I see what you mean.

You probably would of had a better time going to a Mc Donalds or something.

Which is exactly what we decided, about 10 mns after i walked back through my front door. Never mind i know for next time.

At least you'll be expecting an average service if you go to McDonalds and won't feel so deflated afterwards having had your expectations of the evening stamped on. =P Sorry to hear that your evening didn't go to plan dude, better luck next time! =)

How old are you?
