Midway today named Matthew Booty as interim chief executive officer and president. Booty has served company since 1991, most recently as senior VP of worldwide studios. He replaces David Zucker, who has resigned from the financially troubled company amid huge losses in 2007.[blockquote2]"I am excited to have the opportunity to lead our game teams and talented associates as we roll out our 2008 releases," said Matt Booty. "Our plans include significant front-line releases, ambitious new intellectual properties, reinvigorated franchises with well-established fan bases, and new offerings in the casual games space."[/blockquote2]As it stands, Midway is still actively searching for a new CEO. Expect Booty to return to his former position once a replacement is found, as I'd imagine that they want some fresh blood in there -- not a guy who has been around with the company since 1991.
