3.40 OE-A Install Guide

I have prepare for the flashing of "3.40OE-A" using "3.40 update maker". (Instructions from Dark-Alex)

But i discovered that there are 2 corrputed data and two "3.40 update makers" listed.

Is it abnormal or i can ignore those and proceed with the flasing to 3.40OE-A? After which to deleted off those folders/files? And which files/folders should i delete away?

Two corrupted data icons is normal. This is due to the % folders, but they are required so leave them there.

Once you are totally finished upgrading you are free to delete all files off the MS.
 
oh .. so can i just format the M.S and will upon powering on PSP, will it create the folders needed? Eg. ISO, Game, Game150 etc. Or i have to backup 1st? then manually recreate those folders?

after upgrading its best to just format the memory stick (this will clear all data so backup anything you'd like to save).

once done formatting, all those folders will be automatically created.

Here is a step by step guide for installing 3.40 OE-A. Please note that you must be running 1.50, or any of the OE series firmware to begin this installation.

First grab the 3.40 OE-A files.

1. Copy oeupdmaker and oeupdmaker% to X:/PSP/GAME if you are in 1.50, or to X:/PSP/GAME150 if you are running OE.

2. Now download the 1.50 and 3.40 updates which you can grab below:
1.50 Update
3.40 Update

3. Place these 2 updates in the oeupdmaker folder and ensure they are named exactly like this 150.PBP and 340.PBP. Now navigate to the game menu on your PSP and execute the update maker. It will take a few minutes to create the file, once finished a DATA.DXAR will be found in the oeupdmaker folder.

Please note: If you get an error message that says "Invalid SHA-1" when creating the DXAR do not proceed further. This means you have a faulty memory stick and a corrupt DATA.DXAR was created. Start over using a different memory stick.

4. Copy 340oeflasher and 340oeflasher% to X:/PSP/GAME if you are in 1.50, or to X:/PSP/GAME150 if you are running OE.

5. Copy the DATA.DXAR created in step 3 to the 340oeflasher folder.

6. Navigate to the game menu on your PSP, run the 3.40 OE-A flasher and follow the on screen instructions. Once done your PSP will now be running 3.40 OE-A :)

ok i got castlevania symphony of the night working 100%

excellent, but can you only have 1 ps1 game at a time?

that's pretty annoying if it's the case.
 
No, Nimrod, you just put the EBOOT.PBP in it's own folder INSIDE the GAME folder, so it should be ms0:\PSP\GAME\Castlevania SotN\EBOOT.PBP or whatever. I have 8 or so on my PSP right now.:p

My PSP firmware is 7.5 how can I upgrade my PSP to 3.40 OE , can I directly use our method to upgrade it?
And if I already upgrade my PSP can I still play my downloaded game?

Any reply would be appreciated,

Firmware 7.5? It doesn't exist... did you use a version changer?

I was also baffled by this, I can only assume he means 3.5. If that's the case, damirace, you have to downgrade to 1.5, then upgrade to 3.40OE-A. Also, uh, we don't support piracy, no-no on the d/l.
 
7.5?I've never heard such firmware,I only heard 3.5 is the highest

No, I'm sure mine is 7.5 but I can set my firmware from 1.5 - 2.6, its already been like that since I bought it. I think its probably already been set by the seller since I play using downloaded game since I bought it.
Now since the firmware requirement for the newer game need firmware 3.xx, I can't play any newer game.
Anyway thanks for the reply guys.
 
Well, you should upgrade to an OE, but just to let you know, we don't support piracy, sorry.
 
Yah, it works for UMD games, but not for like homebrew or Popstation or anything, which kinda sucks.:sad: The plugin's called irsmp3 or something similar... Here, found it- View attachment mp3prx.rar
