Well i tried dat n it didnt work, so i formatted my mem stick, n re tried but it still freezes at da same point.

sounds like this is a memory stick issue. KeyCleaner should run fine on 1.5. I will ask Chilly just to make sure.

ok well when Chilly gets back we will see what he makes of this. however I think your motherboard's IDstorage is really messed up. this would explain why recovery works but booting into OE doesn't (recovery mode still uses 1.5 kernel). would also explain why KeyCleaner is freezing at boot up (it checks the IDstorage) :/

well i tried to use the key cleaner agen dis morning but it didnt work.

i was usin devhook0.50 b4 i tried usin 3.40OE-A. shud i jus use da latest version of devhook?

@Makatak: Your problem doesn't sound like one concerning the idstorage. It's more likely a memstick issue. You might try to get an authentic stick from a real store (avoid ebay)... a small cheap stick would be fine... something larger than 32M as 32M isn't enough to update to the OE. However, one thing I'd try first... try updating to a different OE than 3.40. 3.40 OE is a little larger than other versions, and perhaps you're running out of flash0 space for some odd reason. Try 3.03 OE. If that works, go into recovery and activate the flash across USB and check what's in your flash0.

In linux, just use the touch command. I guess you can also do the same thing in Windows with CygWin. The idea is to set the timestamp on the file. The PSP orders its display according to the timestamp on the file, not the name.
 
Hey there everyone,

Sorry, I posted this question a few pages back but didn't recieve a response so I thought I'd repost.

I have my PSP upgraded to 3.02A of Dark Alex's firm wares and I was wondering what I have to do to get it up to date with 3.40. Can I go directly to it or do I have to upgrade in a chain like 3.02 > 3.10 > 3.30 > 3.40.

You can go directly to 3.40 OE. Read the guide carefully, it tells you exactly what to do if you're running a previous OE version.
