Custom firmware for psp 3000?

Features such as POPS support, ability to run ISO/CSOs have always been enabled in custom firmware. I don't think its going to make that much of a difference in the long run if one more PSP model is able to play them. It's not like PSPgen just invented some new crazy feature...

Seriously... If piracy is killing Sony, its half their problem too. They should have made a PSP without a UMD drive a long, long time ago...

Also, if they would just enable a feature similar to SecondOS for the PS3, there would be less of chance hackers would want to hack it....

My point is, 'we' are kind of killing the PSP scene too, but it's not all our issue. And for the hundreds of Pirates that will use this for illegal purposes, well, great for them. But at least those few people who use it for legit game backups finally get what they deserve.

You should rethink your position:

There is nothing wrong with the UMD. There is something wrong with you people for being to lazy to carry on or two around with you... The only REAL problem with the UMD is it's production cost, my friend. You're dead wrong.

There are more pirates then people who actually use ISO loading for legit backups, and if you can't see that you are in pure denial.

You need to re-think your position and do a reality check. The actual HB scene is doing more harm than good by "unlocking" the 3k and if you can't see it, again, you are in denial.

K, you need to stop bitching and head back to the piracy discussion. If you don't LIKE custom firmware enabler for the 3K, or in general. Then fine, but why would you discuss it in a thread full of people looking forward to it? It's flamebait. So, yes you can have your own opinion on things and views about it but it probably shouldn't be discussed here.

I'm fine with HEN, I love HEN and I'm very much looking forward to r3 and whatever else davee may have in store, but I don't go flaming on in here everything that goes against HEN.

So this would mean you haven't used any m33(or similar cfw) from the moment you bought your psp (may it be a phat or a slim)? That is admirable my friend.

@putchukoy: 1.50 OFW on my old PSP was fine really... Then I swapped for a 3k... But yes, I've always bought the games I really wanted (and I still have a wishlist)

again, i said its admirable. I rarely see anyone not using any m33 features at all.

Anyways..i just found out on the site itself of pspgen that if it is according to their time, it might be 1 hour to go before its release...but do not count on it to be exact. Cheers

i'm sorry if i came off angered against you, i'm not mad at you in general it's just the flaming that goes on inside these boards over piracy constantly. many people here do pirate things casually and the discussion of it IS allowed on these boards. ISO/mp3 downloading and usage etc. So as much as you may not agree with certain people all the time you should allow them to discuss it when they want to, even if you feel the need to correct their idiocy. :\

Really, Sony doesn't deserve it -.-'. I agree with your statements about UMD, but you guys treat Piracy in a too simple manner. Piracy has way deeper sociological effects. Piracy all isn't about robbing and i do belive that it's somehow a byproduct of fast cultural changes.
