what's wrong

i have an 1 gb memory stick which shipped with the psp itself as part of the package.

but when i go to follow the same steps mentioned in the first post of this thread it just shows

User Capacity 951 MB
Free Space 47 MB

it doesn't show anything about Magic Gate at all!!

what's wrong?!



btw, i didn't format the memorystick before checking it out... do i have to?

Well the information on MagicGate only started showing up in the 3.X firmwares. So you're probably running a lower firmware. If the memory stick shipped with the PSP itself it should be ok though.

yes mine is still running factory installed 2.71...
it's a ta-082.... yet to downgrade/upgrade.
