Ethernet Cable?

i think it really depends on your router
I have 2 computers, 1 on Wireless and 1 on Ethernet, and the speed is exactly the same.

But with my friend, his wireless speed is crap.

Which is better? Because I have my PS3 literally sitting right next to the router and it's using wireless because I'm too lazy to find a cable and hook it up. Would using a cable increase speeds?

It most cases, yes. It definitely provides for a more stable connection, at the very least.
