I had to sell my old one, I wouldn't have been able to afford this one and luckily a friend at work was looking into getting one anyway. Living in Canada, I don't have many options but I'm pretty happy with Rogers. I was able to call retentions and get so many promotions, the best being 2 free HDPVR's for 2 years and the movie networks for free as well. I recently phoned in again to see if I could get any more and the guy said that in all the time that he had been working there he has never seen as many promotions applied to one account than mine :w00t:

All thanks to RedFlagDeals. For any fellow Canadians who don't know about that site, I highly recommend it.

My new "upgraded" rig :D

Nice! How are the Z5500s so far?

They're amazing. I didn't listen to music too much before but now I'm pretty much listening 24/7 because I just want to hear them work their magic :) A great investment I will say (and love the multiple inputs / mini-receiver)

300 bucks for speakers is alot dont ya think?

Not at all, I wanted quality speakers and sound. When I upgrade my system I won't settle for anything crappy - I'll just end up buying something better down the road. As you can see I have replaced / got more monitors several times just because I wanted a better one. I should be satisfied for quite some time now

But dont $150 pair sound just as nice?

Anyway yes I feel ya... Now go out and buy some ps3 game!

Well I'm going to post my updated setup. I've removed several things from it actually lol. I got rid of my 32" LCD that I used as a monitor, bought my brother a 32" sammy, so I moved the 360 and Wii to his bedroom, made some ghetto speaker brackets, and rearranged my bedroom.

Not always.

HDMI cables for example.

Bad example (cables that is) ;)

I am home for the summer and my Viliv S5's LCD got cracked today so I'm a bit pissed beyond belief. I do have some PS3 games (MGS4, LBP, Burnout Paradise, Uncharted) though. As far as most things with the PC goes you do get what you pay for (monitors especially)

You mean it was the best example. :p

Another example is:

$50k will get you a sports car, eg Nissan GT-R
$500k will get you a super car, eg Ferrari 360. 10x the price will not give you a car that is 10x better.

This applies to everything. You do get what you pay for but only up to a certain point. After that point your mainly paying for a brand name.

No need to as it's nothing special and I do no gaming on it.

It all depends. The higher the price tag on the monitor or TV the greater the quality (generally). However as you do get higher up in the price range for the product the differences become minimal and are not worth the premium, but for the lower end it is definetly clear. The "you get what you pay for" goes for the following items off the top of my head: Monitors, TV, Speakers, Computers, Cars (not the high end, low end), Furniture, etc.

The $549 price tag on the Dell 2480wfp is a bit high for some to grasp at since they can get a 24" monitor for just under $300. However you are paying for a much higher quality monitor (better panel, more inputs, memory card reader, usb ports, etc.) and it really is worth the premium. However I'm not one to spend full retail on anything like that. I either wait to buy it on sale or buy it refurbished (like I did with my 2480wfp, only $275 off ebay).

New paint gman? Looks ace but it looks like you need a coffee table, unless you need that space for the pull out.

Thanks! I've had my room orange for a while now. I really like how it turned out. I definitely have room for a coffee table and a few other things for the near future ;)
