If you actually read my post you'll see that I wasn't trying to 'disprove' anything. I was saying that mouse sensitivity, DPI settings and skill are unrelated. A good player is a good player regardless of higher or lower DPI while a bad player will be so regardless of his mouse.

Personally I get the feeling that you are trying to show off the fact you have a G5 with the whole "IT HAZ HIGHER DPI HURR HURR" thing. You initially attacked an admin's choice of mouse purely based on the fact it only has 800 DPI then started to shout out all the merits of the G7.

You just sounded like a Logitech advert.

You then formed an arguement based on the fact that it would take "8.1CM to cover your 2560 pixel wide screen !!!!!"...most users don't have screens that big and this is another example of you flashing your cash in my opinion.
A lot of serious PC gamers would be using either 1680x1050 or 1920x1080 which wouldn't have as much space in a Windows enviroment and makes the point of " OMG IT TAKES 8CM TO TRAVEL ACROSS THE MONITOR" arguement moot.

I don't like high sensitivity at all. I'm used to picking up my mouse once or twice to navigate the entire length of my monitor. It's more comfortable for me to move it a little bit and only move a bit on the screen at the same time - more accurate (rather than jumping around). I've experimented with sensitivity and have it right now to the point where moving it 2.5" completes one full length of my monitor. If I am missing pixels it's not that big of a deal (I've never noticed that in photoshop and games I can compensate for or just blame bad aiming).

@Menace - it's okay, my mouse really isn't suited for most people in gaming, but it suits my tastes and needs perfectly (which is hard to understand if you do indeed have high sensitivity or high dpi settings). I myself need a low sensitivity and don't mind high or low dpi so long as it gets from point A to point B.

@x3sphere - the case is realllly nice :) I love the aluminum finish on it (reminds me of fine grain in photoshop...at least I think it was the fine grain effect). I'm going to be adding a LED light right behind the dragon's mouth and bought a controller for that as well so I'll be able to have the dragon breath fire on command (that is going to take a week to get the parts though sadly...stupid NewEgg EggSaver shipping and Mwave being so far away).

I'm 100% satisfied with the case I purchased, worth every penny (I like to be different, so having an Antec 900/902 or Coolermaster case won't cut it for me)

No matter how good you are, what does it matter when you can't put the cursor on your distant enemy due to a PHYSICAL LIMITATION? (A sniper rifle doesn't count because it zooms in and the enemy takes up more pixels on the screen. Do it unzoomed with an assault rifle.)

Because he has a massive 24" monitor and since he bought a new PC he might as well complete the whole thing with suitable parts. He stated he prefers a wireless mouse and the G7 is the ONLY choice with high DPI at the same price range of his current mouse at launch.

Indeed that is true but in my opinion my Logitech MX Revolution is the best for me (feature set, form factor, design, etc.). The Razer Mamba doesn't have enough buttons for me (I also like having a second scroll wheel for volume control) and the G7 is just plain ugly in my opinion. Although I will admit, I was impressed with the Ramba and its style but it is tooo expensive. I bought my MX Revolution when it was on sale refurb for $30 (and my monitor was refurb at $275). So while I like getting good quality products I don't like paying anywhere near full retail - so I will not be buying a new mouse anytime soon unless I see an amazing deal ;)
 
Changed my setup a bit. My 3007WFP developed a bad pixel so I contacted Dell for a replacement and they sent over a 3008WFP instead - brand-new too. Pretty surprising considering it costs nearly $500 more.

Also got a new keyboard - Logitech Illuminated. It's VERY thin.

It's great, best keyboard I've ever used to be honest. The keys are very quiet and responsive. They are laptop style keys though not all the keys are flat. The ctrl, alt, and function keys are rounded on the top and raised a bit higher. Overall I've found it to be very suitable for gaming, it handles multiple key presses fine in games like CoD 4 and TF2. Also despite being thin it is quite heavy - weighs at least twice as much as my old keyboard. I also like that the illumination on the keys is not overdone. There's no backlight leakage at all. Very stylish.

From a pure gaming standpoint, the G15 might be better for the customizable macros. But as far as standard keyboards out there go, this tops them all in my opinion.

I have that exact keyboard, and i'm absolutely loving it. It's excellent for typing and gaming, I never miss hit a key anymore :D

You really haven't had much luck with Dell monitors, have you? :P
They seemed to be really willing to try and keep you as a customer though if they sent you a brand new monitor that cost ~$500 more than your previous mointor. :|

G15's multiple keypress support sucks. They have some specific areas on the keyboard that support upto SIX presses (QWERTY, ASDFGH, [POIUY and some others)!! And some other areas support only TWO!! Not even three which every cheap keyboard supports on all the buttons. If Z and C are pressed then X doesnt work, and some others due to which I had to remap keys in games for.

The G19 supports 6 throughout the alphabet area.

The keys look cheap on the G15 and the illumination leds also look cheap. They don't light up the entire letter. Its evident that theres a led there that lights up the part closest to it more than the others. However the actual feel of the keyboard is very good when it comes down to pressing the buttons and thats what matters :P

Also, excellent keyboard choice! It truly is a great keyboard, I love the low-profile keys and the very bright and clear backlighting. It's not like those cheap gaming keyboards with blue/red backlights either. It was on sale just this week too (I think Newegg?) :p

@Torch - this is the best backlit keyboard, period. Excellent build quality throughout and while it is a basic keyboard, works great with gaming.

Can you test out the multiple press support in various parts of the keyboard? My friend wants to know. Just use notepad and hold down keys one by one. As long as the last key you pressed is repeating it means the previously held down ones are also active (it doesn't doesnt stop reporting a previously held key if you press a new one that isn't multipress compatible with the previous ones). Try out QWERTY ASDFGH ZXCVBN. Put the cursor in the middle of a block of text and try the arrow keys.

My results:

QWER/TY
ASDFG/H
ZX/CVB/N

The / divides where the keypress's did not recognize my new entry (as in I held down Q then pressed W, then E and then R and while having all those still pressed down I pressed T and it did not input T (continued to input R))

As far as the arrow keys go they all seem to be multipress compatible (no problems with moving them while holding down the previosu ones)
