A general summary recommendation for posting in this thread:
Well seems like this post had to be written sooner or later as it will likely be a common question for awhile.
Q: Oh no! My psp will not load hello world / the tiff exploit!
A: You may have read this before, but please read it again: IT IS NOT STABLE
Stop, now look up again. Read it again.
Really there is currently nothing that has shown to be 100% accurate in making it load, other than patience. Sure, others recommendations and methods may help, or they may not. Feel free to try them, if we find a method that gets it to load 100% across the board for all people, It would be a done deal.
This has not happened.
However, there is no hardware based psp out there that should stop it from working. The firmware seems to be rather important though.
On one side, there is an argument to not update any higher than your current firmware because there might be an exploit for lower firmware.
On the other, if you want to test this, you should be on firmware 5.00 or higher. Remember, if your psp is freezing or turning off: IT IS trying to do something, it's just failing to get around to loading the exploit.
So to anyone that says it doesn't 'work' if it's even freezing or turning off your psp, to a degree it is working. You really should either keep trying to get it to load, try others methods for getting it to load, or just wait from there to be a reason to get it to load (something more than hello world... remember all, waiting is really all you can do at this point).
Please be sensible with this guys. It's easy to understand that everyone wants this to take off, and I believe it will soon. But poking it with a stick isn't helpful or accomplishing anything productive. If you want clarification on things related to this, or to ask questions about x, or y, that's fine. But posts such as:
Doesn't work!
When will it do something!
PSP just freezes!
Do not help. If you want to post your experiences with it, really there isn't a problem with that, but be sure to include as much detail as possible explaining your attempts. 1 try is not enough. 10 tries is not enough. 50 tries is not enough. After trying 1000 times, and using the other methods for trying to get it to load, then post. (This is kind of blown out of proportion, but hopefully will give you the idea).
And no, I'm not staff, just trying to offer reasonable advise.
