[RELEASE] Game Categories v12

@ymg545

1.) Phrases like "I can't get it to work" or "it want not work" are very general.
What cfw do you use (GEN-A, GEN-B or CFWE) ?
What did you exactly on installation ?

2.) Did you create some "CAT_" - folders in your "GAME" - folder
for example "CAT_Homebrew" or "CAT_Emulators"

@topic
I love this plugin.
Keep up the good work Bubbletune.

ahh, sorry about that. :p

my PSP's CFW Version: CFW Enabler 3.60
I've created all CAT_* folders. Actually, all modes except Context Browser works perfectly. I can see all CAT_* folder in context menu mode. But if i change to Context Browser mode, there's only the folder which contains chicken images has showed. Thanks. :)

Thanks a bunch for Game Categories. It's indeed a life saver.

However, i don't think there's much you can do about this particular bug. It breaks GoTube Version 1 auto updater.

They use a clever Internet Radio update thing that looks for files in the /PSP/GAME/GoTube folder, not inside some "CAT_" you create.

It's easy enough to work around: Just move the application folder back to PSP/GAME when you want to do the fix, and move it back inside the category if your choice. Just though it would be useful to point it out but, as i said, i imagine there's little you guys can do to "fix" it, since it depends on a folder created by the user.

Not that it matters, but i'm using a PSP 2000 slim running GEN-D2 CFW. Once again, thanks a lot for the application.

I actually registered here just to say thanks for this awesome plugin! That update feature is really slick! I wish other plugins would use that feature too. It just looks so professional!

My hat goes off to you, and I can't wait to update again! Haha!

Very useful plugin, but is there any chance that you could implement it in a way that doesn't involve changing the directory structure of the memory stick? As it is at the moment it breaks any apps that use absolute paths (yeah it's bad coding practice, but people still do it). Are there any issues with making it use a config file instead of directory names to generate the lists?

Hi

with game categories v12 & CFWEnabler 3.70 I can not start homebrew app from categories, only from Uncategorised, is this problem with GT v12 plugin or with CFWE 3.70 ?

thanks

I'm having the same problem as well. The screen merely flashes to black and the memory stick is accessed for three seconds. Then I receive an 80010002 (80020148 = unsupportedPRX type) error. Haven't tried CFWEnabler 3.60 or lower yet. Backed up games work just fine wherever they're put. It's happened on 5.03 GEN-C as well. This is all on a PSP-3001 with a TA-090 v2 board. Hope this helps.

With CFWEnabler 3.60 it works.. Maybe in 3.70 is same code or patching process as it is in GEN-C and that is reason why Game Categories not work.

Btw I readed somewhere that if you have 5.03 GEN-C games required firmware 6.xx not work if they are in CAT_ category (I mean games with non patched eboot), so maybe this is same or similar problem as with homebrews and CFEW 3.70.

Thanks for clearing that up. I'll fall back to 3.60.

Update: My GT worked just fine while it was in my CAT_Games directory on GEN-C. Thanks for the heads up though.

Update 2: Thanks again for the heads up; it worked!

Same issue. I upgraded from Game Cat. version 9 to 12 and now I CANNOT start any of my homebrews / emulators :-(

Works fine with on version 9 with the same configuration below...

Running PSP-3000 (using MHUSpeed3 Exploit) w/ Gen-C and (sometimes) CFW Enabler 3.70.

Hope that helps with the bug report.

Fixed it.

He was pointing out the fact that MHUSpeed3 is just ChickHEN with the credits changed.

Is MHU even a Team? It's just a lamer with delusions of grandeur.

HI,
Sorry for my bad English,I'm French...
I have a bug when i want to suppress a PS1 game.
The eboot is supressed well but the folder not.(there remains only an empty folder with the name of game).
Only when the PS1 game is categorized(for example in CAT_Jeux PS )
PSP 3000
Firmware:5.03Gen-B
Plugin:Hold.prx,daywiewer,popsloader,sedna and gamecategoriesV12.

EDIT:This bug is present in V12,V11 and V10.
The V9 works fine.
