Tiff Exploit - HEN Information

off topic: this HEn can be a time bomb too...
Sony probably have a lot of Devs making the best homebrew ever for the psp3k. it will be so good that will be a must have for all 3k.
then at some part of the game it will touch the flash memory in a way that u will not know it was this homebrew, so u will have to sell it on ebay for parts. or take to a Sony store where they are going to charge for repair, and put a 5.50FW.

That seems very unlikely if they're concentrating on the PSP2....Sony had their chance with the PSP and blew it, opting to invest their effort solely into the PS3. If they'd have made half the effort the homebrew community had the PSP wouldn't be in the position it's in now. Do you really believe they changed their historical disinterest and started making must have apps?

A very good addition to this HEN would be for it to check if the PSP is un-flashable (TA88v3 / PSP3k) and then prohibit any flash0 write operations. I don't know if this is possible, but it would stop a lot of people from bricking their PSPs and it would generally be a lot safer.
If it's not possible to check if the PSP is un-flashable, then it should be an option somewhere where the user can set it to prohibit flash0 write operations, if they know their PSP is TA88v3 / PSP3k. It would be a lot safer and it would stop a lot of unexperienced people (not necessary noobs) from breaking their PSPs.

Davee, is this possible?

No it can won't

ah ou~
sorry to hear this.....

It looks like that the HEN is already with it .

Can this will be helpful with pre-IPL ?
Why now nobody has interest with it ?
or decompile pre-IPL and with it we made a Pandora battery is illegal?

The pre-ipl in TA-088v3/TA-090v2 is gone (overwritten) before we can read it.

No, but according to Archaemic they removed support for extra "non displayable" information (the tiff exploit was using a flaw in the way they handled extra alpha layers).

quoting myself for history books (when I'll be dead and famous):

Funny the things that can be done from what is essentially a garbled image... great work all round i guess, as with most developments there will be many unsung heroes :)

I know this .
But if it is in a ROM , will there be something or some soft or some devhook like BIOS on PC or something like a special reader to read this ?

I'm sorry for asking so many unhelpful .

Unfortunately not, no... it isn't readable... i believe the CFW exploit currently used to read the Pre-IPL was that if there was a certain type of error while loading the IPL it would just drop it and leave everything in memory... I'm not sure on this as it is a little above me...

But currently we (us mere mortals) cannot read the Pre-IPL.

Fingers crossed that SyncByte is still active then...

indeed... Haven't heard from him in a while... he was experimenting with some kind of weird JTAG thing wasn't he...

Even so, eventually someone will melt the IC with acid and take shots with a scanning electron microscope, and reverse it that way... that is a long (and very expensive) way of yet though.

I'd imagine that Davee is out of school by now, so... if there is going to be a release today it'll be within the next 4 hours or so...

datel lite blue tools
