it will work the HEN and CFW are 2 different things. By it meaning CFW wont work on with V3 and 3Ks it means that you cant install custom firmware but you can still use the hen to play emulators or homebrew apps that dont use M33 or kernal aplications i think. If you try to flash CFW onto your psp if its V3 or 300X you will brick (brake) it is basicly what its telling you
 
Psp 2001

I have a god of war psp 2001 firmware 5.03. Will I be able to flash custom firmware using hen? Srry i'm a total newb to all this

You'll need to figure out what type of motherboard it is by using a motherboard identifying app through HEN.

If your PSP is a TA-088v3, then no, you won't be able to get onto custom firmware. You will however be able to still use HEN without a problem.

CFW is different from HEN.
CFW has all the functions of HEN, but CFW(with custom IPL) must be installed on your PSP Flash.
HEN doesn't have to do it.

PSP-3000 and PSP-2000(TA-088v3) have the new pre-IPL which prevents to load custom IPL.
This pre-IPL issue has not been solved yet.

:confused: Man... tomorrow will be the birth of several shiny PSP3000-bricks. I don't get the feeling that everyone is clear on what can or cannot be flashed.

M4Mature should have that for all the people complaining about their bricked PSPs in the next 72'ish hours.

Seriously folks, if you have even the slightest doubt... don't flash... don't downgrade.

the god of war psp bundle is not ta88v3

in other words, it IS hackable
though its best to make sure.

anyways, go google pandora's battery and CFW

this tiff hack strictly speaking is just OFW that has limited homebrew support and lacks the modules to run ISO and PSX

on the off chance that you DO have ta88v3 mobo, then davee's your best hope.

Keep in mind that pandora won't be needed if people have hackable motherboards. They can use Davee's HEN to then flash custom firmware onto their PSP. The tiff exploit is not just geared towards people who have TA-088v3 and TA-090v2 motherboards.

Now, we don't know what can do on the HEN.

If you just want to install the CFW into PSP-1000 and PSP-2000(except TA-088v3), you can install because you can make the battery pandoraize on the HEN.



I am forecasting that PSP registory(system.*reg on Flash1) can be rewritten, because to rewrite the registory (probably) does not need kernelMode.
It may be used to brick the PSP, but you don't have to be afraid of it because you can format the Flash1 easily(Starting PSP, press /\+[]+SELECT+START).
Of course, I don't know it's true or false now.

I checked around and the pandora battery is useable on the god of war psp. So I guess i'm in luck to flash CFW using davees HEN. right?

this honestly is up to the people who are doing it, because a downgrade isnt 100% safe, it can fail, but if they have hackable mobo's then pandora is 100% garunteed to "flash" it perfectly.

yes you can go ahead and flash with the hen, but thats not 100% to work, a pandora will work no matter what on it though
 
I'm really confused how can HEN cause a bricked PSP? I thought that HEN only works with the memory stick duo and doesn't permanently change anything within the actual PSP.

Ok. Well i'm just gonna use the hen for a while till there is more known information on people flashing CFW. Has davee himself mentioned anything on flashing CFW with HEN?

on this HEN you will be able to install a custom firmware on the old psp 1000 or ealry 2000 models, eventualy they will release a program to do that. but if you try to install the custom firmware to a ta88v3 or to a 3000 it will permanentaly brick (break) your psp. because the ipl is different on the different psps

yeah, he explains it in his posts that the cfw wont work on the 3000 or ta88v3 2000's. but it will work on older versions
