Droid Using Old Android App APKs: Cheating or Not?

Hi everyone! I have a question regarding the Unified Achievement Hunting Rules (UAHR) and Android/Google Play Games achievements.

A mobile game I am currently playing recently removed Google Play Games integration in its latest update. However, the achievements used to work perfectly fine just a few versions ago. I know that UAHR officially allows downgrading games on PC as long as it's done via official channels like Steam Depots. But since Google Play doesn't provide a built-in feature to download older , I am a bit confused about how this applies to Android.

If the game in question is completely free-to-play, would it be considered a rules violation to download and install a clean, older version of the APK from public archives (like APKMirror) strictly for the purpose of unlocking the missing achievements?

I want to keep my profile 100% clean and legit, so I would really appreciate some clarification from the staff or experienced members.

Using old APKs is allowed.

As you mention unlike Steam depots there isn't an official means of obtaining them, so using third party sources is also allowed. The APK files just shouldn't be modified in any way, so yes I would stick to well known sources like APKMirror.
