What's your fav sports team?

I see Orlando kicking themselves in the ass for letting Courtney Lee go. He was a promising rookie and they traded youth for age. Vince is a great player no doubt, but Orlando could have stayed fresh and young.

Cavs really are over-rated, especially Mo Williams. He is an average player who was treated like an All-Star. LeBron had to literally carry the Cavs in the playoffs. They depended too much on them, and when the team completely gave up, they gave the ball to LeBron for 5 minutes straight. Shaq needs to have a good season this year too.

Spurs are dangerous if they stay healthy and they worry me. Almost every team in the Western Conference is good enough to make the playoffs... Too bad I can't say that about the Eastern Conference.
Celtics
Cavs
Magic
Those 3 teams are the ones that dominate that league. The other teams make it into the playoffs because they don't lose as much as the bottom part of the league.

Nah, Orlando didnt go out without a fight. When the Nets said they wanted Lee, Orlando asked for Ryan Anderson, and if you look at him, hes just as promising (but not nearly as known) as Lee, but in a different area. And the relief he'll be able to give Rashard Lewis is immense. Lee has a ton of potential, yeah, but i dont think Orlando lost as much as you think.

Mo Williams is a decent-to-good Shooting point. Hes not a superstar as many have set him to be, but hes really not that bad too. And LeBron is a player that not only makes himself look good, but his whole team. Alongside him, anyones bound to look good. I want to see how they do with Shaq, honestly i can see a very weird scenario, but im not sure how itll turn out, so itll be good to see.

In the East, you mightve also forgotten to put the Pistons. I can definetly see them going to the playoffs, maybe not a huge contender, but with Ben Gordon and Villanueva matched up with the other members of the Pistons, i can see them doing good. Chicago was my Eastern team, but i really wanted them to keep Gordon, but we'll see how they fare.
Washingtons got some HUGE potential if Gilbert Arenas comes back to being agent zero, and having Antawn Jamison and Caron Butler, and the two vets they received in the trade with the Timberwolves. So look there too.

And yep, the West can be a dogfight, but some teams i can see repeat the same performance, such as Sacramento.

huge post.

Shaq might be good with the cavs, they aren't a fast offensive team like the Suns were pre-Shaq so I don't see him slowing them down.
Heh, I can already see Shaq and LeBron doing some funny skits.

Oh yeah I forgot about the Pistons... They did get some good help so far this offseason.

And Chicago was my team for the east too lol. I just always want them to win for some reason... Except when they play the lakers of course =]

Idk, With Shaq, there might be a chance for a clogged up lane with Lebron, which = less dunks possibly? But at the same time, it could easily be a similar and unique play plan between the two like Kobe and Shaq.

Yeah. I already know a question that will be asked after the season.

"Now that you got to play atleast one season with Kobe and LeBron, who is the better teammate?""

shaq is way out of his prime he shoulda retired the year after he won the champ. and hes a asshole heres something he sang "kobe cant do it with out me. tell me how my ass taste". then about a month the nba season ended he said he wanted to be a laker by 2010. shaq go home woot dodgers won today hahaha brewers

It pains me to read anything you post Blacksheep.

On topic - I'm a New York sports guy. Yankees, Giants, Knicks, and Rangers. If I had to pick a favorite sport, it's American Football by a landslide.

You Dodger fans are delusional if you think you are going to do anything this post season. You're in the worst division in baseball and will get smoked by whoever comes out of the Central or East.

I wouldn't say that. The NL as a whole is definitely far below the AL, but I don't know that anybody is necessarily light years ahead of the dodgers in particular.

You have to remember, they had the best record in the MLB without their best player for most of the year. Even in a decidedly weaker league, that pretty impressive.

That said, I agree, they wont win the championship. They'll make it to the World Series though, which is far from "not doing anything".

Juan Pierre was an absolute stud filling in for Manny. You could argue they didn't miss a beat with him filling in except for the long ball.

I thing the Phillies and Cards would smoke the Dodgers in the playoffs.

so u know about football u a jat or a giant?
ps join my fantasy yahoo league if u think u good enuff lol

No thanks.

I've been playing Fantasy Football longer than you've been alive and the cheapest league I'm in this year is going to be $250 a head with $5 per wire move.

And if you read my post you would have seen that I'm a Giants fan you simpleton.

I disagree, but I actually hope you're right, because I hate both Manny and the Dodgers.

Dodgers 2009 World Series champs, just watch.
Sure we are in a weak division, but we proved to be good against other teams also.

Phillies wont beat us again this year that's for sure. The cardinals are a good team, but Pujols cant go far with the supporting cast he has, although Ryan Ludwick has been heating up lately, thanks to Pujols.

The only threat I see is from the AL, mainly Boston... They are a dangerous team and they have the 2nd best record so far.

Our stats are good too.
MLB best record so far.
7th in runs scored, 2nd in runs allowed, 3rd in batting average, 1st in Opponents Batting Average, 2nd in Home Runs allowed, and 2nd in ERA.

Although we are lacking in power somewhat being 24th in Home Runs but we know how to manufacture runs and with Manny back we can start being more aggressive.

awww com on show ur skills
ps u think u might think know much but u havent met me u should see my house its painted blue with a big ny in front of my house my back yard is yellow with a laker sign painted on the wall and my garage is blue with a dodger sign.

That doesn't prove that you're knowledgeable, that just proves that you have too much time and/or money on your hands.

dude take it easy. look at artest numbers there terible 28% and i think 16 points per game
that wasnt the only time he was suspended Jackson, Artest suspended following court pleas - NBA - ESPN i didnt read yet

Ron Artest is much better than a 28% shooter. Maybe you're looking at 3 point field goal %...

Ariza is crap compared to Artest. I don't even think that's debatable.

I'm pretty sure the NL West is not a weak division this year.

It has 3 of the NL's top 5 teams. Think about that for a second.

But then again, the NL sucks.

but really guys ariza for a artest = lakers lost
sure artest is tough but thats the only thing hes got agnst ariza yea sure bigger balls but ariza fought for every play harder and artest and ariza kept his mouth shut plus the numbers im a big number guy.

Nobody knew who Trevor Ariza was before his run with the Lakers last year. He was a nobody with New York for a couple of years.

Even so, his starter numbers don't match up to Artest's.

Artest averaged 17/5/3 last year with the Rockets. And he's also a better defender than Ariza. If you put Ariza out there for 36 minutes a game (starter minutes), he'd give you 13 points, 6 boards and 3 assists. Decent, but that was with Kobe playing on the court with him.

Put him in Houston and you'll be lucky to get those numbers. Artest is going to have a very successful year in LA and the Lakers are going to be real heavy favorites to win the in the Finals again because of him.

I just hope the Lakers resign Lamar Odom. If we lose him, idk. That would mean we lost both Ariza and Odom, and those two guys really helped us win it all.
