4.01 M33 Easy Installation Guide

a lot of thanks for the great effort as m33 released especially to the master of cfw dark_alex.
i've got cfw 4.01 m33-2 now, it was 3.90 m33-3 through 4.01 m33, but i could not have anymore my ctf themes as i run at 3.90 m33-3 as well.
i activated original themes then i run recovery then i enabled splugin cxmb but my psp only MS led on couples of second following with wifi led on then all completely off without accesing xmb menu with ctf themes....
please help me.....

Hello. !st off Thanks alex for all the gud work.

I have had my psp from the day they came out. I have been up with the homebrew and CFW from the begining and have been following all the upgrades in the M series.

I have never had any problems untill now.

I had 3.90 m33-3 and did my first network upgrade. all seend to go fine untill I rebooted and now I have a friggin brick. PISS me off. now I havce to get it working again. Any ideas folks????

hi i m a new user of psp i donot know about firmwares but after checking my system information of psp it appers ver.4.01. I install 1 ISO game on my psp magic gate in the ISO folder but it does not work. i am very gratefull if you help me to came out this problem .my psp is a slim version model

My PSP was running 3.80 M33. I went into the network update and I ended up with the official firmware 4.01... Can anyone help me out?, Why didn't it work like it says up there?...And is there any way of fixing this now or do I have to get my PSP remodded?..

I got this message saying "The game could not be started (80020148)". Do i have to already be running CFW to get this? Because i have 4.01 OFW :confused1:

My PSP was running 3.90 M33-3 and before I knew that there's 4.01 m33 and 4.01 m33-2, I've already updated my PSP with the Official Sony OFW 4.01 and I've got the same problem like above.
And also all my .cso and 'iso games can't be detected from my Slim PSP.
Can Anyone HELP ME PLEASE.......:sad:

now i want to change to 4.01but when i start from the update key
in my folder, my psp restarts, unpacking done,
please wait....

And thats all it can keep hanging there for hours, nothing happens,
I have 2 psp phats , one i changed with no problem but this one is hanging

Pls help me what can I do ?????

I successfully installed 4.01 M33 and upgraded to M33-2 (From 3.71 M33-4)
There was a problem with some of the games I had, I couldn't start them.

I found out that the ones I had problems were the ones which had file names in CHT.
Changing them solved the problem (With the exception of one, which had said that the save data was corrupted and I had to start over again --0).

I was wondering though... they worked fine in 3.71 M33-4, how come they were not able to be read after updating?

Might be a bug in the firmware, in regards to how it is handling CHT based characters. I don't believe any of the changes made in the M33 firmware would have caused that though. More than likely this happened due to a change Sony made.
 
I upgraded my PSP from 3.90M33-3 to 4.01M33-2.. AND I HATE IT! I can't play my GBA EMUs, or most of my UMD backups, like Samurai Warriors or Innocent Life. (Could someone PM me with a link to where I can find a downgrader, or something? I want my beloved 3.90M33-3 back)
 
hi..need help on updating my firmware. i have downloaded all the necessary files and followed instructions as well however i failed to update my firmware from 3.52M33-4 to 4.01M33. unpacking.....done.. please wait..... and it stopped. can someone help me on this please? tnx!
 
i got a little problem i've update from 3.71 m33-3 to 4.01 m33-2 and the savedata of my gamesaves don't load (if i made a new it load but i will lose all my progress) what can i do?

EDIT: some of my homebrew doesn't want to work too

how can i go back to 3.71 m33-3 firmware version?

Hi wondered if you could give me some advice, not had my PSP for AGESSSSSS. So it's current firmware is "2.71 SE-B".

Just wondered what the easiest way is of upgrading to 4.01 M33?
