Multi Modern Warfare 2

What is nuke boosting? I thought nuke boosting was just the stupid knife running around shit to get nukes stupidly easy.

It's when two guys get together in Free for All and have one of the guys get killed 25 times in a row by the other guy (they use tact insertion to speed up the process)

It can happen in any game mode, I always play team deathmatch and find people on opposite teams doing it.

I love wrecking boosting, they get so angry

I did it by accident once. I tossed a grenade where two guys were boosting (this was when I first learned of nuke boosting). They were yelling as if they worked hard to get it lol.

It was the first (and one of the few) FFA matches I've ever won. A good day indeed.

FourZeroTwo posted some news on the IW Forums, I grabbed this from the Steam Forums.

What does the future of PC gaming look like for IW?
I don't know. Nor do I know what it holds for any platform. Our current development focus is on continuing to support Modern Warfare 2 through patches, updates, as well as future DLC for the game. Beyond that, we currently have not announced what our future plans are.

Can we except to EVER see servers or a different interface to online play?
At this point nothing has been announced to replace IWnet. More options -- in addition to the built in matchmaking system IWnet has -- theoretically can be added at a later date, but unless that is announced; IWnet is the main and only matchmaking solution.

What is the status of DLC for PC?
DLC is being worked on now. What it includes or how it will be distributed is not yet determined.

Simple question here. Care package "glitch" was it intended, you seemed to be leaning towards the fact that is sort of is but we would like a direct answer so we can finally mop the floors with this endless argument.?
It is not intentional and something I believe the team plans to address in a future update.

Can we expect to see a patch fix for being thrown into a game that's about to end?
I'll pass along the feedback to the coders and see if there is logic that will allow matchmaking to determine and eliminate the ability to be match-made with games nearly completed.

Can we hope to see any more Video related options? Some of us believe that the default FOV is a little too narrow. could this be considered in the next patch?
That request is known and I'll let you know if it gets added to any known future updates.
We payed the same price tag ((59.99 with tax for me it was 63.73)) for the PC version of mw2. The consoles allow multiple profile off of one game purchase, however we only get one. Also the console version gets leaderboards and we don't get one either. Can we expect to see some improvement in that area?
Each platform is unique in its restrictions and account set-up. For example, Xbox 360 on Xbox LIVE, you must have a separate Xbox Live subscription for each gamertag in order to play multiplayer with multiple accounts. PS3 is the least restricting, allowing you to create as many PSN ids as you want on their system. On PC, we rely on Steam for our online multiplayer, which requires you link your game with your Steam ID, limiting it to one account per user.

I'll pass along the feedback and desire for linking multiple Steam accounts per copy, but I am currently unaware of any plans to add this feature as of right now. I'll keep you posted.

He didn't really answer much, but we can now at least expect to see the CPM speed boost neutralised. I'm glad he's finally decided to respond to the community's outcries, even if answers are vague at best.

Reading through that mini-interview I couldn't help but wondering how in the fuck this kid was able to get his interview questions answered by someone in IW capable of answering questions. Half of those questions were so grammatically incorrect I had to reread them several times

FourZeroTwo's actually decided to strat using the IWForums as a mode of communication, mainly after even their volunteer mods complained. There was another set of questions he answered, but nothing really to report. This was the original thread if anyone's curious.

Guys, just a heads up, there are a few "XP Drain" games floating around, even for XBOX. Apparently the game variables are changed so that killing someone deducts XP, often enough to reverse entire prestiges. I'd advise leaving any game that appears glitched in some way. PC Players may also want to back up their 'players' folder, in case of this happening. It's located in <STEAMDIR>\steamapps\common\modern warfare 2\

As it happens, apparently the Zero Gear demo has allowed unsecured code to be executed, and due to MW2's unsecured client, has allowed individuals play MW2 through IWNet, hence the sudden influx of hacked servers.

There are also XP gain games going on which if you get 1 headshot or 4 kills, it will take you to level 70 and you can prestige.

But this is not a Modern Warfare 2 specific hack. Recently the xbox got a jtag hack so people can mod any game they want basically. Gears of War, Halo, etc.

It is just modern warfare is the game of the moment right now so more people are focused on hacking it.

yeah its Parovoz 1.0.175 iw4mp.exe which let players join IWnet without buying the game and also unlock console to mess the whole game up again.

I was just trying to found out how to get LAN going without buying extra copies of the game but I guess I gotta wait for group called TeknoGods to finish up their loader.

PC Patch released. Apparently the CPM Glitch has been normalised, should be also implemented on consoles, if not already. Elevators, 1887 Bling Range & Mouse Accracy fixes as well.

Oh what... CPM glitch doesn't need fixing, and neither do elevators... 1887 bling range probably does though :P

January 18, 2010 - Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 PC Update Released
Updates to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:

-Care Package, Emergency Airdrop, and Sentry Gun marker grenades sprint speed normalized
-Sentry Guns: Improved placement detection, preventing cases of Sentry Guns inside geometry
-Model 1887: Bling using Akimbo and FMJ combination now has same range and damage as non-Bling Model 1887s
-Improved player collision removing cases of getting into geometry and 'elevators'
-Mouse latency tweaks for more mouse movement consistency
-Fixes to prevent various texture and XP hacks

I must have gotten invited to no less than ten "10th Prestige" lobbies over the course of this weekend.
