Honestly, I don't even know what the point of it is? Does going prestige even unlock anything?
I recommend doing it at least once. One of the my real life friends convinced me to do so. You'll unlock additional challenges for each weapon and another set of Prestige Challenges in the Barracks. You'll also unlock the ability to earn some more Titles and Emblems that require you prestige once. And last but not least, you'll get an additional Create-a-Class slot to have access too.

I'm thinking of prestiging now. I've gotten Mastery on the AK-47 and the F2000. Just 15 more FMJ kills with the ACR and I'm done. Well, I've got the Siterep challenge to do. Currently 36/120

yeah I was planning on doing it at least once just for the thrill of losing everything I worked hard to unlock... lol. Opening up a few new challenges I guess is a bonus, but not really worth it imo. I'll be doing it once anyways though once I'm able to

Does going prestige erase all of your completed challenges too? I'm pretty sure it does
To my knowledge, it erases all of the regular weapon ones, except the ones highlighted in green that you unlock when you Prestige for the first time. The Prestige Weapon ones roll over I'm pretty sure.
Everything gets wiped, unlocks, camo, etc. The only things that remain are Titles/Emblems (not progress on them) and 'Prestige Challenges', which are in green and visible after going Prestige. Challenges include Weapon Veterancy, which require you to accumulate a high score of kills/headshots for custom titles.
I went prestige once, wasn't difficult to get back most unlocks. Haven't seen many high prestige players on the PC (apart from the obvious rank hackers), highest so far was sixth. On the PS3 however, they are much more frequent. My brother, for one, is at 8th prestige, and his friend already maxed out at 10th.

I think its on the main menu that says "Prestige Mode" but I not sure
(coming from a person that only play COD4 and WAW MP)

Any one else having trouble with this game on ps3? Because I get signed out of my psn 1/5 times I try to play a match.

I hate the ak in this game. I liked it in cod4 but it just doesn't work out for me in this game.
I haven't fired one shot yet with the AK.

The Famas is a good gun, and you don't have to level up at all to use it.
