Multi Modern Warfare 2

Update is up but matchmaking still isn't working well. I can't get into any games. I still blame the problems more on Microsoft's end then Infinity Ward/Activision's.

Latest status update:
Matchmaking is in a bad state on Xbox LIVE right now. We're working on it and will resolve it as quickly as we can. #xboxlive #mw2

Yeah, I haven't been able to play either but that's a good thing for me: exam to study for ;) I did however spend the downtime playing the maps in a private match just so I could know the layout, takes me about 10 minutes to "know" a map; this way I'm not running around like a chicken with his head cut off when I do play online. I'm a little disappointed on the overall level designs, not much diversity within the levels in terms of "hiding" places

Why does it seem to me that MW2 could go into the list of the most bugged games ever? :|

The issue MW2 is having right now is more on Microsofts end. The update and maps are out already, but matchmaking is taking a beating. Most likely due to the insane amount of users trying to play.

You would be looking for hiding places Frozen.

Hey, one's got to think smart in an unfriendly environment ;) These maps certainly do cater well to the run-and-gun crowd so it will be interesting to see how I stand up (I can hold my own running and gunning with my silenced scar but only finish with a K:D of 2:1 and for me..that's not good enough!).

I'll be trying these maps out later tonight most likely, stupid exam studying is proving to be more trouble than I though tit would (tip kids: go to classes and don't go on websites while in class...well MFM is allowed but not other sites!)

By 8 at the latest. I'll have two real life friends with my as well most likely.

Edit - I'm heading home right now anyway, so I should be on sooner. Off for around dinner time, then back on later.

I can get this game for free from Goozex so was thinking about picking it up yet last time I had it there was so much glitching I ended up sending it back. Did they fix all the glitching?

Should probably post my opinions of the new maps, but first I hopped on and just went to find a game, and what do you know, it put me straight into Abe's game :) Had a fun time trying to kill him and even saw him camping a few times! Was an interesting night; we were on and off each others' team and we both either did really good or got screwed and put on horrible teams. Should also point out that there are a lot of little kids that were on as well, very annoying....

Now, about the maps: Salvage is awesome, the rest aren't as fun for me. While I welcomed the addition of Overgrown and Crash, I didn't really feel the same way about them as they were in COD4. It could, and most likely, is a result of the objective-based modes that were rotated in and out (definitely not a fan of some of them). We'll have to see how the maps stand up in the regular playlists which you can do right now (I'm just going to have to wait until tomorrow)

I basically share the same opinion as you on the map pack Frozen. Salvage is fun, really intense. Storm + Bailout are decent, but not as exciting as I had hoped for. Overgrown and Crash are nice as always (although I still haven't been able to play a full length game on Crash yet >_<) but they just aren't as fun as I recall them being on CoD4. Granted, I usually take sometime to warm up to maps, so hopefully that's the case here, but as of now I can't see spending the $15 on them to anyone who is on the fence about it.

It was very random to have Frozen drop into my lobby. I'm not sure if it was random or if there are some elements of having a mutual friends list that led to it, but I've never had someone on my friends list drop into a game randomly before.

We then played for the next three hours.

PS - The only time you saw me camping Frozen was when I needed to trigger a killstreak.

PPS - I fucking hate Capture the Flag.

It's happened to me a few times, I'm not sure whether it was just by chance though.

Yeah I know you didn't camp just to camp, just pulling your chain ;) I'm not a fan of CTF either, only enjoy playing it when playing in Third Person (the pace seems faster in third person). With CTF I was almost spawn camping your team at one time and it was just easy pickings, much easier to do so with CTF. I think that domination on the map with the big warehouse in the middle is pretty tough. The outside points are easy to guard (as they always are) but the middle one provides little protection and almost no hiding/cover spots. I'm pretty sure that we were put into the same game we were friends, I've had that happen to me once before with another friend. I didn't even know you were on at the time until I heard your voice in the lobby :p

Well that's the secret of domination. The team that can control point B first usually wins, which is why I usually say everyone go B at the start of the match. You only need one guy to capture the point near your spawn.

If you control two points, you know where the enemy is spawning from, and the match should be over.

Yep, absolutely true. It's just much harder to get B in that map than other maps from my experience once the game is halfway through. The problem comes when you have idiots on your team who, instead of defending the two points, go on the offensive and try to capture the last point. Like you said, if you can rush the midpoint first with your team then chances are you can easily win. In one match I was playing I was the only one on my team capturing points (we were losing) but capturing the two endpoints, while easier to get, is difficult to hold when your team isn't working together.
