The mouse is excellent for everything I use it for. I haven't played any shooters that require a high sensitivity lately (I did fine in TF2 with this mouse). I just hate being tethered to the computer with most gaming mice (Microsoft has a new wireless one that promises a lot for gamers, but "wireless" and gaming never seem to go together).
The MX Revoltuion is by far my favorite mouse I have ever used. You may not like it, but I'm a huge fan. It's the perfect form factor and great for the tasks I do (have it setup to be my media controller as well so I can play, pause, skip, volume adjust, etc. WMP stuff).
Some people require "gaming" mice for gaming, I don't
