There is risk to brick my PSP with this?

I don't believe so. because most of the flash operations for this version of irshell need firmware version 5.00 to run and since you are on 5.03 they simply wont run. also that n64 emulator(dadeleus beta 2 update) works on my psp 2000(ta-85 v1) if I run it under irshell.

Ok.
I'll try to run Daedalous beta 2 UPDATE with this IrShell...

Just one more question, Who do i use it?
There is so many folders inside in that 'IRShell 5.0'.

I'm really, really sorry for the newbie question. I'm not so experienced on that kind of subject. ;P

Just put the IRSHELL folder into your memorystick like this:
ms0:/IRSHELL/(BIN, SYSTEM, SKINS, etc...)

and copy the irshell2x3x folder to your GAME folder like this:
ms0:/PSP/GAME/irshell2x3x/eboot.pbp

The n64 emulator goes into the game folder on your memory stick. When you are viewing the contents of pspirshell50.zip you want to put the irshell folder on the root of your memory stick. Then go into the psp folder, then into the game folder. You should see a folder named irshell2x3x. Put that into the game folder on your memory stick. You have now installed irshell, but you are not done yet. Open irshell500s.zip and you should see a file called irshell500s.prx, drag that file into the irshell/bin folder on your memory stick. Once you have done all this run the chickHEN R2 then open irshell. In the top left corner there is a icon that looks like a house, click on it. You should now see the root of your memory stick, go to psp/game/daedalusx64/EBOOT.PBP and click on it. A screen may pop up, just use the enter button and it will go away and daedalusx64 will start.

EDIT- By the time I finished writing all this the guy above me allready posted...

The installation instructions I gave were only valid for irshell 5.0, and only if using it in conjunction with chickHEN R2. The installation process of other homebrew can be similar, but to be sure you've done it correctly, refer to the readme.txt file that comes with just about any homebrew you can find.

The seplugins folder is only of use when you are using a custom firmware(cfw) that is capable of running plugins. The chickHEN R2 currently, cannot make use of it.

As mentioned in my previous post you want to use the contents of the GAME folder, not the game150 folder. I really can't explain the difference between them because I don't fully understand it myself. However I can say that when a newly downloaded homebrew presents you with the possibility of installing the contents of game or game150, always try the game folder first.

hi

many thanks for explaining again..

irshell says ur firmware version not supported/detected.

many of teh installation file i saw says install as usual.. i guess its a pretty lame thing and i am getting a hold of thing..

what i do is put the folder that has EBOOT.pbp file in game folder of psp and rest in ROOT...

anyways thanks for the help ..

is there a video player that supports the more popular video formats.. and not just mp4

ok i got one solved...
it says its for slim and lite only ..
not for brite.. hense this version of irshell wont work for 3000

To bubbletune: can you post the "tricks" to run the chickHEN on 5.02 ofw? I cannot send pm's for some reason or I would have.

I tried that and it still says unsupported firmware...

Anyway, I'm now trying to install LuaPLayer HM8 but it says I have to install some drivers . Is it safe even though it is on the compatible homebrew list? I really don't want to brick my psp3k

Same here. I did what they said IRSHELL into the root and the other folder under GAME and i alse patched the file in BIN. And still the same shit. Not supported firmware...? Is there someone who got this running on a 3k?

is anyone out there going to make a 5.03 cfw after all this? keeping psp charging all the time is wasting electricity, and does more harm environmental harm than piracy.

lol, unlockingsky, funny but true.
Anyway, is there anyone else except me who find most of homebrew not working? (got 2000 with TAv033) Is there any solution for it? 50% of homebrew seems to just be "corrupt" and have no info about them (no icons/names, just 'corrupt'), 25% left have icons and information, but when i run them i get only black screen and freeze. And so left 25% of all work just fine.

Same problem here. But only with a few games...
Make sure that your game/app don't use folder with % at the ending and that you're putting a folder with EBOOT.PBP inside (with Tyrian i've copied the whole folder, when the PBP was in the TYRIAN/Tyrian directory)

If anyone is having trouble loading HEN, check your memory stick is supported. I just tryed to load HEN with an 8GB unsupported FAKE sony memory stick and HEN would not boot

here is some details on FAKE SONY MEMORY

Clue #1 False SONY Part Number or False UPC / EAN Part Number

Genuine SONY Memory Sticks have exactly the following Sony Part Numbers and UPC Part Numbers on the retail paper insert and all MUST includes "Sony IC Recording Media Memory Stick PRO Duo - Operating instructions" sheet(s) in 14 languages, folded 20 times. It is a special 70% or more recycled paper using VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) - free vegetable oil based ink:-
Pro series: 1GB (MSX-1GS), 2GB (MSX-2GS)
Pro Duo Hi-Speed series
1GB (MSX-M1GN) = 4-901780-942947 or 0-27242-64714-5
2GB (MSX-M2GN) = 4-901780-892532 or 0-27242-64715-2
4GB (MSX-M4GN) = 4-905524-319217
Pro Duo series (with separate Sony Warranty sheet in 14 languages; with 2 hidden UPC Security Tags)
1GB (MSX-M1GST/X) = 4-905524-386865; (MSX-M1GST) = 0-27242-66543-9
2GB (MSX-M2GS/X) = 4-905524-387889; (MSX-M2GS) = 0-27242-67114-0
4GB (MSX-M4GS/X) = 4-905524-333688; (MSX-M4GS) = 0-27242-69239-8
8GB (MSX-M8GS/X) = 4-905524-333695; (MSX-M8GS) = 0-27242-69240-4
Pro Duo MARK2 series (with separate Sony Warranty sheet in 14 languages or with 2 hidden UPC Security Tags)
1GB (MS-MT1G) = 4-905524-486469 or 0-27242-73614-4
2GB (MS-MT2G) = 4-905524-486483 or 0-27242-73619-1
4GB (MS-MT4G) = 4-905524-486506 or 0-27242-73620-7
8GB (MS-MT8G) = 4-905524-486520 or 0-27242-73621-4
16GB (MS-MT16G) = 4-905524-408133 or 0-27242-71313-0
FAKE Sony have easily identifiable FALSE Sony part numbers with extra letter T and also mixed/incorrect UPC Part Number on the retail paper insert.
Pro Duo:
2GB (MSX-M2GST/X)
4GB (MSX-M4GST/X)
8GB (MSX-M8GST/X)
16GB (OEM ?)
Newer FAKE may have correct Sony Part Number but the UPC Part Number may still be incorrect on the retail insert! Fake has none of the Operating Instructions sheet(s) and none of the separate Sony Warranty sheet.

Clue #2 For PSP Owners: MagicGate Unknown and Incorrect User Capacity

In your PSP Menu screen, go to Memory Stick, press the Triangle button, then select Information. Genuine SONY will display as MagicGate Supported. If you see Unknown or Unsupported then you know you have a FAKE Sony!
Genuine Memory Stick displays User Capacity: 8GB as 7687MB or 7763MB; 4GB as 3839MB; 2GB as 1909MB or 1910MB; 1GB as 956MB.
Fake Memory Sticks displays User Capacity: 8GB as 7727MB or 7839MB; 4GB as 3876MB; 2GB as 1937MB or 1949MB or 1956MB or 1959MB; 1GB as 969MB of memory space when being tested.
Most fakes have HALF or less than half of the usable capacity from the stated capacity. The only bullet-proof way to find out its real capacity is to try transferring as much data as possible to your card and then READ BACK data from the card to see if it will actually hold close to the stated capacity with no sign of missing files or data corruption.
Genuine card has high transfer speed at about 80Mbps while Fake has painfully much slower transfer speed.
