Other motherboards owners who might be interested in this are people who want to spare 15$ on an extra battery, and do not understand that in exchange they risk their 150$ psp.
Honestly, buying an extra battery and converting it into a pandora is the best thing that ever happened to my PSP. You can switch firmwares in a couple minutes, without the stress of bricking. If Pandora works on your PSP, you shouldn't even consider other options, seriously.
Unfortunately not, no... it isn't readable... i believe the CFW exploit currently used to read the Pre-IPL was that if there was a certain type of error while loading the IPL it would just drop it and leave everything in memory... I'm not sure on this as it is a little above me...
But currently we (us mere mortals) cannot read the Pre-IPL.
Well, let's wait until a bunch of noobs semi-brick their PSP for some reason before we argue more on the "convenience" subjectYou have a phat psp-1000, and don't want to go through the hassle of getting a pandora battery to downgrade? Use this. Using this is way more convenient.
We're talking about downgrading through the HEN here, which I believe will do some stuff to the flash.u cant brick with this HEN ur not messing with the flash0...

but for people who has phat or most of the slim... they can mess with flash0..... and so they can also flash CFW

Not contesting that, I downgraded my Ta82 with the GTA exploit almost 3 years ago, and I know that recent downgraders are more secure than what they were before. How do you think we managed before pandora existed? Bricking a PSP is almost entirely user error. Like Adiuvo said, flashing a PSP to custom firmware is very safe, it essentially uses the official SCE updater.
That was pretty much my point. If you use your PSP for "underground" stuff, you'll end up needing a Pandora battery at some point. Might as well be sooner than later.Once the user begins screwing with their flash0 intentionally though, then problems might arise.
Davee, I'd just like to say thank you and a big congratulations. You have come a long way in a very short amount of time.![]()
