Multi Modern Warfare 2

It's a pretty good game, not great but OK.
It's really the same as the other CoDs but improved a little, like a Madden game.

Question regarding the Steam Download of Modern Warfare 2, I have two entries, single player & multiplayer. Are these two seperate packages that need to be downloaded? Or will downloading one complete the other?

I'd try the Steam Forums, but their completely filled with whining so I didn't bother.

Why not just download both?

Also, if it's anything like the Half-life 2 stuff, they probably share assets with each other, so if you download single player for instance, then it will probably make the multiplayer download significant'y smaller.

I have no idea though, just download both.

Problem is, I have a slooow internet connection, average 50 kb/s. If I have to choose, I probably would want SP first. So I'll start that, and leave MP later.
 
Does anyone not think that cod4 online is much better? The maps in mw2 are seriously too big.

The game's not balanced for large maps.

They're the one and the same, the MP is just a different executable which is 4meg in size. You can install from the disc though :\

I just played about an hour or so of third person tactical. Completely reminds me of how GRAW plays and I think it's a great way to level up.

I got 4600 points in one capture the flag match.

Since engine remains like that are around it's likely that someone'll make a dedicated server hack...
 
Has anybody else noticed how terrible the spawning (mostly of free for all) is?

So irritating :/
 
What weapons are you guys using in the AR class? I've only really used the SCAR-H.

Also, what happens when you do all of the individual gun challenges and get a "Mastery" of that weapon?

Just the 10,000 XP as far as I'm aware of; probably a trophy/achievement too.

Most of the people on this game are utter douchebags. You kill one, and as soon as they respawn, they come back to the area - sneakily - and kill you. It just pisses me off, the amount of sore losers on this game.
